A Quaker into decentralization, permaculture, simplicity, peace. Exploring the world one step at a time. Seeker of truth, separating facts from fiction. Always curious, often wandering. Here to learn, listen and grow. Opinions are works-in-progress. Will walk long distances for good conversation.

I kept bees for a few years and absolutely loved the experience. I can still close my eyes and smell the hive after opening it.

I kept it on my list of things to come back to when I don't have a full-time job and family to care for.

Until then, I'll settle for the flurry of mason bees we have in early spring from the bee houses we set out.

gm. remember: community lifts us all.

When teaching a group of teens about truthfulness in First Day School (Sunday School), I brought up the question of influencers. They already knew that much of influencer culture is deceptive. Maybe there's hope. At least, among people who care about the truth and honesty.

I've had to explain to many people that this is a great song. Once they moved past the headlines and listened for themselves, they realized they'd been lied to.

Over the holidays last year, I dropped non-essential computer and phone use, including social media, music, and movies (unless with family). This led me to walk, read, and write more. My thoughts felt so much clearer without the constant distractions.
