Violinist and teacher, building a homestead on raw land in between lessons and concerts. Fascinated by how we can develop resilience in our lives, in our families, in our communities. I'm excited about freedom tech and circular economies, and am deeply grateful for the devs and advocates who are helping build tools for a better future.

Yes - this is probably the way. Grief is the shadow side of love, and opening to the fullness of it may be all we can really do.

hugs from this internet stranger 💙

I'm thinking of starting a nostr:npub1g0587hzzckcncxfm78n0996qe2s58nspy29wf02tqcj5sdzcpj4q6j40hv support group. Before each podcast or interview we can fortify ourselves with a few shots of whiskey (or just a paperbag to help with hyperventilation) and then hang out together afterwards to make sure no one jumps off the nearest tall building.

Is it normal that I think of her as OUR Lyn?

Yes! As I think I recently saw on here - and contrary to popular belief - illness is not a pill deficiency.

Also, for when our systems kick into high gear: I wish that folks took fevers for the magic that they (almost always) are. There are obviously some exceptions, but in general "taking something for the fever" just makes no sense. The fever IS the medicine.

I planted a dozen heirloom apple trees in the last few days! Very excited to see what they do.

It's only our second year but I understand so much more about planting trees than I used to, and this time I was able to add our own biochar and compost as well as other amendments. We have clay soil that seems to be high in minerals (we still have to get it tested) but the charcoal should help with both drainage in rainy seasons and water retention in droughts.

I took the advice of Billy from Perma Pastures and planted a nitrogen fixer (baptisia) in with each tree, and most of them have two or three comfrey cuttings planted around them as well.

thank you for sharing your daily pictures, Maria! These are particularly beautiful, but I always enjoy them.

It's just astonishing (and encouraging) to see that someone who understands central banking and basic economics to have won a major election.

Thank you! This is very inspiring. We're early in our journey so the daily work is far more than 1/2 hour per day. Not complaining - I love it! - but it's good to get a reminder that once we have our trees planted and our systems in place, we will likely have more time and bandwidth.

Good morning, Nostr friends! Gorgeous day here.
