I started this account for my friend Texas Slim because I knew his crew did not have time to do it themselves. nostr was new (still is) at the time and I was already all in and knew how to work the thing. I told Texas Slim I was doing it for those reasons so he is not in the dark on this.
I have only been posting verbatim what TBI's Twitter account has been so as to respect their marketing etc. but the time is coming when I need to turn the keys over to Slim and his producer, June (the posts are beginning to get questions and I am not about to start answering out of turn).
When I turn those keys over I want to place in their hands a freedom account with at least 1000 followers and a rowdy bunch of activity: replies, reposts, and likes. If I turn over an account full of "meh" then the chances it remains as vibrant as it is (585 followers so far) decreases.

I just posted this in response to another note about this stupid headline:
The study is dumb because everything that looks only at carbon emissions as a measure of environmental impact is ridiculous.
But the headline is dumb because it misrepresents the study, which concludes with the recommendation that ppl continue to grow their own food but pay more attention to the sustainability of the materials they use for infrastructure.
I finally looked more closely at this study. Maddening the way it's presented in the media, because the researches recommended that people continue to grow their own food but pay more attention to the materials used in their infrastructure.
There are so many things wrong with the current environmental panic, but I think that one of the worst is that carbon emissions are taken as the sole measure of ecological health/damage. Even if all the alarmist models were correct, it's such a reductive way to look at ecosystems. All manner of serious contributors to pollution, poor soil, water, air... they all get a pass if they are not counted in the carbon calculator.

No - you're probably right, or at least for a portion of the population that's what will register. I just thought it was funny because I literally saw the same image earlier this afternoon and to the extent that I thought about it at all it was something like "what a weird awkward photo."
When people share tech developments on Nostr I feel like I'm a little kid watching my older brothers and sisters talk about really cool stuff. I'm so proud that they know about it, and their excitement is palpable and contagious. I assume that someday I will understand what is going on, but right now I really have no idea what they're talking about.

I think at this point some people thing the moon land *could* be fake because we've seen SO MANY lies. I don't have a strong opinion one way or another - have other rabbit holes that are more productive and interesting - but I no longer think that I'm sure just because I've seen videos and it seems to be an established fact.
I've often thought that we could have so much fun writing 1 minute skits based on this theme. I bet someone could do this playing around with AI.
