I assumed that they take a cut when they facilitate this way, but apparently they operate on a donation basis!
My first choice for a coffee shop would be:
WIFI Available.
IMP Accepted.
If the coffee shop has nostr:nprofile1qqspp9hkhc9y6lcwesklfmfvs6plzsl0eq0whglvumd2m5hu5ax8anqpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsw8m634, that would be cool, the coffee shop owner has to make a living, not just selling coffee.
Two weeks --> two days
Final touches now...

The cost of connectivity in Germany is three times higher than it is in the second costliest EU country and most places in Germany don't even have fiber.
#tollgate fixes this
“Our position is clear.
We do not fight against any creed, any religion. We do not fight against any form of government. We do not fight against any social class. We do not fight against any nation or civilization.
We are fighting division, unconsciousness, ignorance, inertia and falsehood. We are endeavouring to establish upon earth union, knowledge, consciousness, Truth, and we fight whatever opposes the advent of this new creation of Light, Peace, Truth and Love.”

The "OS" is basically an OpenWRT image with the TollGate stuff pre-installed. Releasing a whole image will hopefully help reduce the number of unexpected edge cases that we need to face on day 1.
Feel free to join the TollGate deployment group if you want to be a brave early tester (aka. c03rad0r)

Given a bunch of axioms. If only we could start the explanation near the bottom of the rabbit hole.. 🤣
What's the difference between a Bitcoiner and a Jehovah's witness?
Serious question from a self conscious Bitcoiner 🤣
Looks like the Cloaked Network (by nostr:nprofile1qqs0hamyk5zvduzdwcgjqalsalr88t90vw0c5d3y292tygphq20xkwg49sudj) is official
This service uses http/3 (quic) tunneling and allows anyone to run a node and earn chaumian sats for tunneling traffic
Not only that, it's a full blown replacement for TOR and traditional VPN offerings
Backed by Back and other heavyweights (Calle included)
Will be big news once ready / released. Here's the direct link to the relevant section (sorry for YT link, is there a good YT alternative??)
Thanks for the shout-out @nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx and @nostr:npub1guh5grefa7vkay4ps6udxg8lrqxg2kgr3qh9n4gduxut64nfxq0q9y6hjy!
The website is still a draft. Hopefully we can publish a beta release for brave testers soon.
TollGates come with VPN clients to protect operators who interface with fiat ISPs from the traffic. However, I am in favor of not including a VPN server in the release to steer clear of the "tor exit node" controversies.
Fortunately, someone else is working on tooling that sells access to an IP address for SATs, so TollGate operators can use that if they want to operate a VPN server as well:

I was able to receive an SMS with it in the app and I used it to place an outgoing call with android caller. However, incoming calls went straight to voicemail and outgoing calls didn't support the number I was trying to call.
Happy to show you how I set this up next week..
Any recommendations for VoIP solutions?

Also, my understanding is that it's better for privacy to buy data from silent.link and to use VoIP for phone calls...

Perhaps JMP.chat is an option. Does anyone have experience with it?

---
