They're coming around.

Some day, Bitcoin and Lightning nodes in the home will be as popular as routers and WiFi are today. I envision buying a "router" and it coming with an embedded Bitcoin and Lightning node which you'll connect to via their companion app or any app of your choice. We're not there yet though.

Why do I think this is possible? 20 years ago, you bought a modem, a router, a switch, and an access point all as separate devices. Today, they all come together in one super device and that device's capabilities are always expanding. Once Bitcoin and Lightning become popular and customers demand it, we'll see the market shift to bring these devices to the masses.

Until then, the node will be in the phone.

Twitter is no more. I think people can stop calling it that. It’s X now, and referring to X as Twitter feels insulting to what Twitter wanted to be.

#Nostr is pretty fucking easy to use. Idk what so many people complain about. You download an app and post stuff. You figure out the rest from there as you go, same as any other new “social media” that comes out.

We need to transition away from direct private key login. It's not only insecure and bad for onboarding experience, but it is also a bottleneck to this protocols development.

The majority of the web ecosystem is declining because a large percentage of people either don't understand what extensions are or haven't set them up.

No one is building native apps because they know that no one will use the app's private key for login.

Soon, there could be a security exploit, and keys may be leaked, resulting in headlines like "Nostr got hacked," and that will always stay with nostr.

All major clients must reach a consensus to establish a standard for disposable secondary keys.

How is this not a priority?

I still think this is by far the most valuable thing we could build for the #nostr protocol. Being able to sell and base reputation off the same network as your social graph is something no other service can offer.

Why isn’t our financial system as simple as Bitcoin?

Your money is your money. You should be able to access it when you need it.
