I guess because of .12% (yes, in case you missed it, “point”12%) of the hash rate, we have to shut the whole thing down.
Still not thinking that covers the $80 billion in oil they were allowed to sell, but who’s really counting anyway?

nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze hit two blocks today. And for me, this was my first “no shit there I was” mining moment, the first since I joined the pool. Don’t we all remember our first time? My hash rate contributions were small, really don’t know what I’m doing, and I definitely talked more shit than anything else. But it was still freaking cool!

No complaints when the Biden administration enabled $80 billion in Iranian oil sales. But "crypto" mining? Apparently the fate of the republic is at stake.

I feel like Bitcoiners understand the wave of regulatory challenges coming our way. I also see some great efforts to educate lawmakers and regulators about what this ecosystem is all about. But where I feel like we’re failing is the political organization side of things.
We forget how susceptible lawmakers are to pressure - especially in an election year. We forget how much pressure vulnerable lawmakers can put on regulators. We forget the
impact of several thousand calls and emails to lawmakers office.
With all due respect to nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m , this is not about law and order absolutists prevailing. One only need look at the lawlessness overtaking so many communities. This is about political control - power. Bitcoin threatens the power of the regulatory class. But Bitcoiners can threaten the power of the political class.
By the smallest estimate, there are 26 millions Bitcoiners in the US. Much smaller constituencies have moved political mountains. And we can do so as responsible members of our communities.
Most of you might hate it, but we need to get into the political fight. We talk about self custody, sovereignty. It’s time we actively stick up for these principles in the public square.

One example - the tight US Senate race in Ohio. Incumbent Senator Browns supports the Warren bill. The race is very tight and a priority for both parties. A Coinbase poll conducted last year with Impact Research estimated that 20% of Ohio residents own some kind of cryptocurrency, with 56% having a favorable view.
This is exactly the scenario where a little smart involvement could pay big dividends. Is Brown's support for the Warren firm enough that he would risk his seat over it? I don't know. Maybe cryptocurrency owners in Ohio should find out.

I’m back to default settings, 490 MHz, core voltage at 1166. I’m running between 550 - 600 Gh/s, a little slower, but with great stability. Steady at 54C. I can run it harder, but this is kinda where it likes to be.
I might need another one. Doubt my wife would notice.🤔

Agreed, there are still a lot of good people in government who respect the oaths they took when they entered on duty and try to do the right thing for the country. This is precisely why I think there’s a political fight to be won. Just think how far the needle has moved over just a few years on so many issues in a short amount of time. That needle goes both ways. I think we focus too much on unseen or hidden forces when the reality is DC is driven by power and politics. Those motivations always win out. The forces working against Bitcoin aren’t somehow inherent to DC’s political culture- they were nurtured and supported by a class of special interests. The problem is that up until now, there hasn’t been an effective counterbalance.

I have no idea what Stratum V2 is and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.
Sound familiar? 😄 That was me not that long ago. But now it's not me and it doesn't have to be you because I made this pocket guide about Stratum V2!
It's a short 8 page zine that you can print at home and share with your friends. Just print the double sided PDF, cut, and fold!
It's perfect for anyone that wants a quick overview of the project, including a brief history and timeline.
You can find this and more of my zines at: https://satsie.dev/zines

ANOTHER DAY OF BUYING OPPORTUNITIES...
I guess so? The chip temperature never got above 56C, and the hash rate never really spiked above 800 gh/s. And even that high, it usually quickly stabilized.
It could also be that the Wi-Fi connection slips. Even when it reboots, it’s back hashing and connected to nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze in 1-2 minutes. All in all, it’s a hardy little worker.
Humming along between 575-650 gh/s, set at 500Mhz, core voltage at 1200, holding steady at 55C. Joining nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze took all of 2 minutes.

I had a few reboots at this setting, so pushing the core voltage back to 1166 at 500 Mhz. Stable so far at 500 - 600 gh/s.
Yeah, I know, I'll never get a payout. Not worried about that, just happy to toss in my few nickels toward decentralization.
And I kinda also like talking trash, now that I'm a new Bitcoin miner and all..:)

nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx This was a fantastic discussion with one of the bravest people out there. When we take a few lumps, discussions like this understate the raw truth about why we are building this ecosystem.
