Money is a ruler by which we measure what length of the economy belongs to whom.

The fiat system allows some people to add centimeters (or inches for my imperial friends) to that ruler, without any changes in the real economy.

As a result, even though you nominally have the same amount of centimeters as before, the ruler itself has more centimeters with which it measures the economy. This means that your centimeters don’t buy as much as it did before.

#Bitcoin is a golden ruler that doesn’t allow for a single nanometer to be added to it. As the economy grows and the ruler stays the same, your centimeters buy more and more (since the entire economy has to fit the same ruler).

If that doesn’t do the trick to make someone understand Bitcoin I don’t know what else will.

nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx let’s play a thought experiment. If you were the NSA, CIA, HLS or NATO, how would/could you censor #nostr ? Nothing off the table. Go!

1. Pass a law forbidding nostr altogether. With high fees or even prison time for anyone running a relay or even accessing the network.

2. Mandate removal of all known client apps from app stores.

3. Suspension of all known client domains.

4. Spam any remaining relays with bot posts

If #Bitcoin is decentralized, unbreakable money and #nostr is decentralized, unbreakable social media, what would be a decentralized, unbreakable government?

#asknostr

A part of me feels that ideas like #Bitcoin and #nostr are unstoppable on their own. As financial repression happens, people naturally gravitate towards hard money and will eventually find and use Bitcoin. Of course, not everyone will get it during their first eye-opening contact with money debasement, but as the rounds of financial repression continue more and more people get on board. The only way it could be stopped would be for fiat money to become integral which will not happen (if it did we wouldn’t need Bitcoin to begin with). Same goes for nostr and speech repression.

I agree. Same for Bitcoin. It is for everybody. It’s for you and me and BlackRock and the US and Chinese governments and whoever else wants to embrace it. When we have everyone on a money standard that cannot be debased value will tend to be naturally distributed to everyone according to their contributions. Fiat aristocracy might even get a head start, but they can’t enslave people forever on a hard-money standard.

If you’re always feeling tired and sickish, try the following for 20 days:

1- Reduce ultra-processed food as much as you can. Try to eat real food (if it comes in a package it’s not real food). Make 80% of your diet real food.

2- Exercise. Here’s what worked for me: Resisted workout twice a week and 30 min running on any day I don’t workout (at a 6 min/km pace).

3- Prioritize your sleep. 6 to 8 hours a day. Go to bed everyday at the same time (I do 10pm) and wake up everyday at the same time (6 am for me).

4- Drink a lot of water. Seriously, you are not drinking enough water.

5- Quit any type of self sexual gratification.

6- This is a bit personal. It worked wonders for me, but it’s not for everyone. Have some type of faith. To me it’s a very personal view on God and spirituality that I accumulated during my entire life. If you want to hear some ideas about consciousness and spirituality that are different from mainstream religion search for David Hawkings. I found it very enlightening.

7- If you can, reduce screen exposure and social media.

8- Expose yourself to the sunlight for at least 30 min a day.

These made me feel like I have superpowers, even though after a while I realized it was basically just getting rid of my kryptonite.

Nostr Pros:

- Censorship proof (Brazilian here)

- No ads

- High signal/noise ratio

- Personally, I find more like-minded people here (this can also be a con)

Cons:

- Still a small network (which in turn is the reason of a few of the pros listed)

- User experience can be improved (so far I tried primal and domus)

I really don’t understand how people can’t see Bitcoin value. I try everyday to talk about it with my normie friends and no one cares. It’s so obvious to me that sometimes I end up feeling I might be wrong or missing something they all see.

In a way I’m happy my freedom of speech was attacked. It pushed me towards more resilient tech, like nostr. It also pushed me to care about internet privacy, something that I never really cared about. Thanks for the interaction, I admire you since Bitcoin Miami 2021. Trust me, I can’t talk about nostr enough. We are not selling! And we are not being silenced!
