Just a Bitcoin Lizard trying to gobble up some sats.

They are a pointless waste of sats in my opinion but they are paying customers so they can do as they wish. I hedge by mining at home to offset my higher transaction fees.

Also, a number of shortcomings in Lightning have been exposed thanks to the high fees. I look at the whole inscriptions thing as a tool to further harden #Bitcoin

You can certainly feel them trying to program you.

I would like to dump it completely but I do feel like there is good value in the macro content as well as the diet and fitness content. Not too much in the way of quality #Bitcoin content like there was several years ago.

It worked for a Zap with my own NTFY server! I found that it didn't work for a direct message.

If people have access control setup on their NTFY personal server they will need to run something like this to allow the notifications:

ntfy access '*' 'up***********' write-only

#Amethyst v0.80.1: FOSS Push Notifications

This version adds support for UnifiedPush to the FOSS edition of Amethyst. Make sure to have one of the [UnifiedPush](https://unifiedpush.org/) apps installed to receive Notifications. Once installed, Amethyst will ask which distribution app to use. If the app is paid, make sure to have enough credits in that system.

- Adds support for Unified Push in the FOSS edition by nostr:npub1a3tx8wcrt789skl6gg7rqwj4wey0j53eesr4z6asd4h4jwrd62jq0wkq4k

- BugFix for missing push notifications when using Google's edition

- Creates a ViewModel store for each user, which allows faster memory cleanup when switching accounts.

- Fix crash when uploading images/videos using external signer by nostr:npub1w4uswmv6lu9yel005l3qgheysmr7tk9uvwluddznju3nuxalevvs2d0jr5

- Avoids creation of the LiveData in every recomposition

- Removing Stop with Task from PushNotifications to make sure the PushService remains active.

This is outstanding! Thank you for adding this. I run GrapheneOS with no Google Play services. I install the X app via APK and without Google Play services there is no possible way to receive notifications (I'm fine with this actually). Now with Amethyst I am able to receive notifications. Amethyst is more of a 1st class citizen on my anti-Google phone than the X app! Great work!

While I would hold #Bitcoin all day every day over gold, be nice to Larry. He's a good guy and readily admits that Bitcoin has more upside than gold.

Yeah, I don't feel like he is a grifter like most altcoin folks. He ran a business that helped a lot of people stack early on, went to prison, and when he got out #Bitcoin had moved on without him. I think he was just trying to get back in and altcoiners will welcome anyone with own arms.

Charlie has a really interesting past with #Bitcoin. He is a true OG. Too bad he went the altcoin route in recent years.

Any chance you could implement Unified Push for us non-Google services users?

Just onboarded Frankie, one of our favorite bartenders at nostr:npub1key55ax33gkl50uqemvl4khrtqrhzm7wzpc7fhseutt5ddkcwcrqgxlt3h to the new version of ZEUS

Send her some love and help us test out the new wallet:

Very cool, I'll check back later to see if the payment completes successfully.

This is because the fee is too high as a percentage of the total payment. I can Zap you via the Core Lightning CLI. I suspect I can put something in the Core Lightning config to have the small payments be reliable as long as I'm willing to pay routing fees that are greater than the actual invoice amount.

You've done the hard stuff so you can get there if you want to. BTCPay server is like magic and does so many things well. Getting up and running with BTCPay takes some work but once you have it running and have a Lightning Node connected the LN Address and Nostr parts are easy.

I'm a fully self sovereign Zapper! I don't rely on any 3rd party to send and receive Zaps!

Several months back there was a lot of discussion about how the vast majority of Zapping was custodial. There is no need for that, it's easy to be fully non-custodial!

Here are the quick and easy steps if anyone is interested:

Run a Bitcoin Node

Run a Core Lightning Node on clearnet with good liquidity and a handful of channels

Connect BTCPay server and configure a Lightning Address

Install the BTCPay Nostr Plugin

Update my Nostr profile appropriately

Great, it works, but not reliably so I also added some channels:

getalby - minimum channel size 10,000,000 sats

WalletOfSatoshi - minimum channel size 5,000,000 sats

Now it all works reliably, easy!

I hope you could catch my sarcasm because I was laying it on pretty thick! Unfortunately there is no way that even the vast majority of Nostr power users can pull this off. I'm a Bitcoin Nerd (masochist?) who sets this stuff up because I think it's really fun. Maybe someday there will be an easier way to set up non-custodial Zapping but for the time being Zapping will be fully custodial and I think that's okay. We need more more "Zapping Providers" and more diversity in usage of these providers so that if a given provider rugs the entire Nostr Zapping community doesn't get wiped out. Happy Zapping Nostriches!

On the plus side it looks like your email alert worked.

I have two related goals for Pacific Bitcoin this week:

1. Meet nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a and ask her to sign my copy of her book.

2. Give her a nostr:npub17tyke9lkgxd98ruyeul6wt3pj3s9uxzgp9hxu5tsenjmweue6sqq4y3mgl to build*!

*(I also brought a Pi Zero with the headers already soldered on, but I assume that she's such a badass that she'll opt to solder it herself)

Regardless of the recipient's ability to solder the proper etiquette is to provide the Raspberry Pi Zero with the headers already attached IMO.
