A lot of open source Android programs leverage NTFY for notifications, you may want to check it out. It works for users that don't run google services. It works great!
Yes! My 5 sat/vbyte force close lightning TX confirmed today. I had a feeling that those sats might be living in the mempool forever.
I can't wait until anchor outputs are deployed.
#Bitcoin and Lightning incrementally improve wherever they are stess tested. Thanks for your contributions to improving the protocols inscriptor folks!
Fall is the best time of year. Nice weather, football season in full swing, and time with family ahead in the upcoming holiday season.
This is very good news. I have a forced close lightning TX that has been floating in the mempool for months and i think it has a great chance to confirm this weekend or sooner!
This is NOT more important than BOLT-12 IMO but I guess they are trying to figure out a way to make a buck.

I'm pretty sure LND is dominant like 70%.
Their implementation was pretty easy to use early on and many developers built lightning apps that would only run on top of LND. IMO, CLN was built the right way with the plugin architecture but it was a bit more of a learning curve so LND seized a massive market share early on.
I tend to think this is mostly an issue caused by LND and experienced by LND users. Since I've switched to CLN I've had a very good experience.
I think the Lightning Labs team needs to focus less on implementing shitcoins on lightning and more on the stability of their node implementation. Bolt 12 would be nice as well.
I'll take the "too much coffee challenge"!
Let the heart palpitations begin!

I have always felt that this guy is disingenuous or even outright deceptive. He tries to portray himself as a virtuous libertarian but anyone that takes his advice will end up with less #Bitcoin than if they simply hold their Bitcoin. I tend to think of him as anti Bitcoin to be honest. The reality is that almost all Bitcoiners warned people about BlockFi and promoted self custody.

I think I'm going to continue to use both for a while longer. I faithfully stuck to "March off Twitter" and missed a ton of good info during the banking failures earlier this year. The good reporting on that sort of stuff isn't on Nostr yet.
Should it matter to me if I miss out on this kind of macro information? As long as I'm still part way in the fiat world mining fiat to save in #Bitcoin I think it does.
RSS is not only for podcasts. Shout out to Tiny Tiny RSS. I basically have my own completely self hosted and self curated news feed where I can get high quality info from sources like nostr:npub1hxjnw53mhghumt590kgd3fmqme8jzwwflyxesmm50nnapmqdzu7swqagw3
How did most people learn about Nostr? From Twitter.
I'm sure many people first heard about #Bitcoin on the major corporate social media platforms.
If there are no Bitcoin and Nostr evangalists on the big platforms to "meet them where they are" a major avenue to bring on new users has been cut off.
People don't go from zero to self sovereign Bitcoin and Nostr user without some intermediate steps.
A couple of months ago I felt like Nostr might find a niche userbase of technical people. Now I'm feeling like Nostr has a chance to be a real competitor to the major social media platforms. The clients are getting good enough, censorship on the big platforms is going to be nuts this election cycle (including Elon and X), and Zaps are addictive! Once the normies get a taste of those sweet Zaps the will be hooked.
It works with the latest version of Amethyst but I'm not going to lie, I don't love the workflow of having to pay each user individually. I suspect this is a lightning limitation.

No BS Bitcoin - You guys are absolute legends! Thanks for keeping me up to date on everything #Bitcoin related without having to drudge through the X (Twitter) wasteland!
I did a foolish thing today. I got into a debate on X with some people who were arguing for BIP300 in bad faith. No one will convince anyone of anything in an X debate. It's a waste of time.
I had learned my lesson years ago arguing with bcashers but I guess I needed a refresher.
