Finally got my full #bitcoin node up and electrs talking to it properly and did my first transfer moving sats off of an exchange 😁.

Now to figure out channels so my lightning node is usable.

So is that a forever thing? Every time someone transfers part of the block you mined you get a fee?

Tiktok does a couple of things that make it so insanely popular. The big one is that you can get your 15 minutes of fame. One algorithm push and sally nobody is a viral sensation because she poored water on her dog and said something catchy.

Now it's the dog water challenge, using her sound. And that right there, is the other big thing. People that would never do it, now just have to karaoke it. And now you have a feed full of people doing the dog water challege to the same repeating sound.

Rinse, repeat with another shmo.

And that's just one. They have so many other little brain worm dopamine hits to keep you there and scrolling. And they keep adding more.

I'm giving tailscale + mullvad 1 out of 5 stars.

It's incredibly slow, when it works at all. finding a functional exit node is a crap shoot. It's unusable. Or at best, usable for only a few minutes at a time.

And I never got Android to work at all 🤷.

Is there no way to mute in satellite.earth?

The biggest problem in understanding the universe is the incrediblely limited section of it we can perceive.

A small slice of the electromagnetic spectrom as well as it's reflecting off of a of grouping of atoms of a sufficient density and specific composition, Physical interation with groupings of atoms of a sufficient density, very limited ability to determin composition of compounds, and a very limited range of fluctuation in atmospheric pressure. And all two of those deteriorate as we age or are broken to begin with.

We've gotten better at building tools to perceive more aspects of the universe, but those are limited by our ability to extrapolate their existance from what we can observe and even then we have to translate the machine assisted observations into concepts we can understand.

We aren't just blind men trying to figure out what the elephant looks like. We're blind men with no sense of taste getting a description of the elephant from another blind man that that can only lick the elephant and speaks a different language.

What is this solving?

A feed that just shows initial post, no replies without context. I get fucking lost.

What are the ads paying for? Is it something where the ads are there to offset hosting cost?

Could I opt out of the ad if I gave them the sats instead?

There are several wallets that make you reenter you full seed before they will let you continue, forcing you to write it down.

I had some issues with my initial setup.

When I setup on my linux machine the first 3 exit nodes I tried didn't work, they completely shutdown my internet access. I spent half an hour trying to troubleshoot until I just started trying every us exit node until I found one that worked. I think I tried like 9 all together?

That said if I had gotten a good one right off the bat it would have taken 10 seconds to copy and paste the command line.

It took a few minute on my Mac for the same reason, going through exit nodes until I found one that worked.

Is there a way to turn on zaps in the desktop testflight?

Is this an update to the desktop client as well, or just mobile?

Awesome. I've been struggling to get tailscale to work with mullvad(its technically possible but not really), and just opted to skip tailscale.
