I read through the #atprotocol docs. I think they got identity right where, frankly, nostr got identity wrong.
Nostr doesn’t think left nor right of the private key.
atprotocol identity layer provides an account recovery key and process that does not require burning down and rebuilding your social network just because someone gets one device compromised.
Nostr needs to take a lesson on identity from #atprotocol on making things better for mainstream users.
I grew up in a family farming area, my dad grew up farming and I worked as a farm hand as a teen and felt and saw how hard it was.
The first farmer I bailed hay for handled the hay bails by the twine with no gloves… bare handed all day long. Most people’s hands wouldn’t last a minute, literally 4-5 of his heavy bails and your hands would be bloody. Hard work all day every day made his hands like leather.
Trust me. We need to make it easier for farmers, not harder.
Regenerative farming may be the way.
Improving repudiation (deniability) in SimpleX protocols
Please send any questions/comments!
We believe that repudiation (aka deniability) is very important for communications. See this discussion with Session CTO about it, for example:
https://twitter.com/JefferysKee/status/1754336020857029013
https://twitter.com/SimpleXChat/status/1754455524068720762

Currently only a part of SimpleX protocol stack provides it – client-to-client e2e encryption, that includes double ratchet (aka Signal) algorithm in one of the layers.
Client-relay protocol, on another hand, does not provide it, and as relays are chosen by the recipients, a modified relay can provide non-repudiation for sent messages, which is undesirable in the context of private communications.
We believe there should be a possibility for digital off-the-record conversations, in the same way as it is possible for in-person meetings - while recipient can keep the memory and even transcript, it should not be a strong proof to a third party.
This proposal adds repudiation to client-relay protocol by replacing cryptographic signature with authenticator (see this WIP document for the details: https://github.com/simplex-chat/simplexmq/blob/ep/cmd-auth/rfcs/2024-02-03-deniability.md).
It is already mostly implemented and will be fully rolled out by v5.7.
A more detailed post about repudiation importance and its acceptance in society and legal systems is coming.
Repudiation is usually considered a threat to information integrity.
If anyone wants to establish an agreement privately over simplex, this would make it one party’s word against another’s.
Is this for all simplex or a special mode the user can invoke? I would read the GitHub page to find out but it’s 404

Farmers feed ALL OF US and are the foundation of modern society.
Agriculture of domesticated crops and livestock is the foundation of all of modern society.
Without productive farmers, nobody has time to specialize or focus on anything other than food hunting and gathering.
Farming improvements enabled people to “come out of the fields” to do other work, enabling other specialists to emerge without widespread starvation.
Anti farming policies are not progressive, but actually regressive.
People who don’t support farmers be like:
I want to see what starving is like.
Thanks for the list of sites to verify are blocked on my network. I think I have most of these covered already.
Blocking TikTok mobile app via DNS (pi-hole) requires an entire blocklist just for all of TikTok’s api servers, which are globally distributed (so you can’t just block Chinese IP addresses either.
Apples and oranges. You need to compare xaction costs in sats/vbyte for btc and shitsats/vbyte for bch
Boomers used to say "one day they'll tax us for the air we're breathing". Fast forward to 2023...

Good thing Bill has perfect information and perfect foresight into the clean products that are best for us.

Help!
I’m looking for libraries and code examples for using npub/nsec for web page authentication. I don’t care what language.
I thought I saw some examples but can’t find anything now.
Mike Burbiglia is brilliant!
Appears to be stumbling through a topic verbally but is actually quite efficiently assassinating the subject matter.
Very few wasted words / time and the banks are disassembled conceptually.
Recognize the skill.

Wait, you’re vegan!?! You’ve never mentioned it.
She and I are doing our part. 😉
Well, for example, I have some knowledge about chia, which uses a unique “nakamato” consensus mechanism to solve the Byzantine general’s dilemma. Obviously btc uses proof-of-work and many know about proof-of-stake and its centralization problems but chia (xch) uses proof-of-space-time. Now I’m not saying it’s without problems nor do I recommend it to anyone. But it is very interesting to me from an engineering and efficiency standpoint.
A maxi attitude precludes people from learning and just creates more echo chambers in which we can all lazily have our biases confirmed.
I reject that approach to critical thinking and learning.
