Probably not as crazy antics as nostr:npub1hte85nxymfyez0nlmmxf287nh9cujfuetxhk9vptwcdqg0pn8pxqxasw3d got up to with his cow farm, but come hang out anyway!

Sheer number of nodes running forked code doesn't matter. What matters is the number of nodes actually being used to facilitate transactions.

For instance, if I have 1000 nodes, but only use one of them for broadcasting transactions, then it doesn't really matter what code my other 999 nodes are running, the only node I am actually using is the one that counts.

Same thing goes for mining. Say those two pools both agree they think the forked code is what they want Bitcoin to be, and so they move ALL their hashrate to the fork. Doesn't mean jack if there aren't enough actual users broadcasting transactions from nodes running that code. It would make blocks come in slower on the non-forked nodes, but that's about it. And I doubt these pools would be so rash as to move all of their hashrate. Rather, they would hedge their bets. And since the miners on each of those pools may not agree with their decision, they may lose a significant amount of hashrate to pools that aren't supporting the fork, unless they provide an option to continue mining on the non-forked chain.

Bottom line is, whoever is behind the fork will have to convince a majority of actual users to run the forked code and consider it to be the real #Bitcoin for their transactions. Additional nodes that don't have real users attached to them are meaningless.

I think the danger of this statement is in extending "childhood" into adolescence, and then exiting adolescence into adulthood.

We put a relatively arbitrary number of 18 years as the age of adulthood, and treat everyone under that age as effectively a child. However, the transition from child to adult, when we as parents should be guiding them to take on more responsibility and real consequences for foolish actions, should have begun at least by age 10, in my opinion.

They should already BE adults by the time they are legally declared so, not just starting to learn what that means.

#Mining is actually mining again, not just hashing!

Back from the woods.

Took my daughter out deer hunting the last few days. Didn't get anything, but the time with her was well spent.

Can't go wrong with either, if you want a full-size, hammer-fired.

I am just partial to the compact and striker-fired handguns.

Confirmed can see.

Glock 19 - Tried and true. No end to available accessories. Some folks don't like the blocky grip, grip angle, or stock sights.

Sig P320 - Similar size to the Glock 19, but a bit more natural grip angle and less blocky.

Smith & Wesson M&P Compact 2.0. Another option in the same vein.

All of these are striker-fire, compact 9mm handguns that are very reliable.

The compact size is ideal, in my opinion. Small enough it can still be carried concealed, but large enough to be comfortable to shoot.

If you need something a bit more concealable, I would recommend the Sig P365.

Meat for freezer acquired and still have a few days left in the woods.

GM #Nostr. My contribution to #Coffeechain this morning.

This is my backyard for the week.

Going dark for a week or so. Will be out in the mountains touching grass and hopefully getting some meat to fill the freezer.

See y'all when I return, #Nostr.

IMO, it is the best ecash mobile wallet out there right now, with built in lightning address, nostr contact list, and Nostr Wallet Connect support. The new theme also makes for a much cleaner and more attractive UI.

Live! Streaming Final Fantasy I, Pixel Remaster. The game that made me fall in love with fantasy RPGs.

I was unaware there was a difference between FFO and the pixel remasters for FFI and FFII. It is the pixel remaster version.

OG Final Fantasy from the NES, but with slightly updated graphics. It was re-released several years ago with FFII and packaged as Final Fantasy Origins.

Throwback Thursday stream this week will be a bit earlier this week. Stream starting at 5:30pm PDT.

We left off in Final Fantasy at the elven city, ready to embark and confront Astos.

Hope to see you in the chat!

This is interesting, and a great tool for finding reliable mints!

I would hesitate to call it an auditor, though, since it isn't really confirming that the mint has enough sats to back all the tokens it has issued. It's only really confirming that the mint is online and honoring Lightning invoices, right? It's more like nostr.watch, but for eCash mints, if I understand it correctly.
