Funny to hear from the debtoholics to whom no one wants to lend any money anymore.
I smell desperation.
Time to stop lending them any power whatsoever.
OpenBoard Keyboard is super buggy on Amethyst.
The difference here is in everyone's ability to control and voluntarily participate in paying the "fee".
It's really, rather a donation than a fee.
In nostr, we talk a lot about evading censorship. Essentially so we don’t have content that users want to see taken away by platforms. But I think we also need to be asking what’s promoted or demoted and what role that plays in the system.
I believe that the trick is not to switch from one centralized system to another, but rather to create a protocol that empowers users and communities to create and enforce their own rules.
I’ve been reading a bunch of papers by Tarleton Gillespie of Microsoft Research. His book on content moderation is fantastic, it really gets into the issues and problems without jumping to simplistic solutions.
Gillespie published a paper about the way recommendation and algorithms of content are used in content moderation as opposed to simply removing content. I think it’s useful for us to think about this as we build out the Nostr ecosystem.
