Follower count doesn't matter on Nostr.

Not only because you can easily spin up npubs to create fake followers. But traditionally, follower count used to be a metric that attracted sponsorships for monetization. However on Nostr, you can earn money directly from each post. This encourages sharing valuable content over chasing followers.

As someone who likes to create infrequent evergreen videos I'm excited to support a client that is more focused on the video experience on Nostr.

I'd love for my video content to find a home on the internet. Right now it's a bit all over the place! I value quality over quantity so it takes me a long time to create something. But then it disappears amongst the sea of low quality, high frequency media.

It would be epic to have a client that serves as a home for evergreen content with customisable UI (eg creators can choose which top video to display), social tools (eg people can clip their favourite parts and share) and distributed media hosting.

Yeah it's a balance for sure. If your goal is to get the truth out to people outside your friends and family,, you're probably less likely to achieve that goal by picking fights and being a dick as opposed to being smart and understanding the people you're trying to reach.

Yeah the web of trust makes it costly to be a dick on nostr because reputation is so hard to build but so easily lost. Your message is less likely to get amplified if people just don't like you. No algos to manipulate in here.

Yeah it's off-putting. They're the ones that need to hear this advice the most for their sake. But you can only be responsible for your own response to them.

Even in an adversarial legal system, there's always the need to negotiate and persuade judges and juries. Knowing how to communicate and not taking things personally helps you become more persuasive and achieve more things rather than going around guns blazing, dance partner 😉

Nostr doesn't need its own Nostr writers or Nostr musicians or Nostr streamers or Nostr wiki page writers, we're not a walled garden, Nostr is just an infrastructure to be used by all.
