After a Delta Airlines CRJ-900 cashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada’s Peel Regional Paramedic Services have said that a total of 15 people have been injured and taken to hospitals in the area. Three of them are critically injured, with one of them being a child. At this time, no injuries are life threatening.

Against the backdrop of Russo-American talks in Saudi Arabia and the emergency European security summit in Paris, France, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is visiting Turkey today to speak with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. According to a statement from President Zelensky, food, security, prisoner exchanges, and some bilateral educational and cultural initiatives are the topics for discussion. On the prisoner exchanges: Alongside the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia, Turkey has played a key role in facilitating past prisoner exchanges and other Russo-Ukrainian wartime communications. However, given the aforementioned meetings and summits, peace negotiations will likely be on the docket for conversation as well. https://video.nostr.build/cf77e256bda2f84a8f841d41a4c4cebd3ee89bb0d6b808c7ddffed4d290b80b3.mp4

On the likelihood of the FAA being at fault for the CRJ-900 crash in Canada:

The CRJ-900 crashed while landing and not during takeoff. Transport Canada has jurisdiction over what would be the FAA’s role at Canadian Airports.

Key Judgment: There is interoperability between the FAA and Transport Canada on flights that cross the border, but if it was an FTC error, during the landing, it’s highly unlikely that the FAA is to blame here. It’s highly likely that the icy conditions and/or pilot error are to blame here.

Regardless, as we said with the crash at Reagan Washington National Airport, speculating on grandiose causes so early isn’t benefiting anybody.

After a Delta Airlines CRJ-900 crashed at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada, the airport has said that all passengers and crew are accounted for. At least 8 individuals have been injured with no fatalities as of yet.

The Telegraph has obtained a draft document submitted by the U.S. to Ukraine as part of Trump’s trade negotiations to secure financial compensation for American aid in Ukraine’s defense.

According to the report, the document states that the U.S. will receive 50% of Ukraine’s recurring revenues from resource extraction and 50% of the financial value of “all new licenses issued to third parties” for future resource monetization. It also specifies that “for all future licenses, the U.S. will have the right of first refusal for the purchase of exportable minerals.”

The Telegraph notes that Trump’s demands would represent a larger share of Ukraine’s GDP than the reparations imposed on Germany under the Treaty of Versailles after World War I.

While official U.S. congressional figures indicate that Washington has sent around €120 billion in material, humanitarian, and military aid to Ukraine over three years of conflict, Trump recently claimed that the U.S. has provided over $300 billion and, therefore, wants $500 billion in compensation.

Zelensky refused to sign the document, arguing that it does not serve Ukraine’s interests but left the door open for further negotiations with the U.S. regarding the exploration of Ukraine’s mineral resources by American companies as compensation for defensive support against Russia.

President Donald Trump has not ruled out sending peacekeeping troops to Ukraine, the U.S. president’s peace envoy said on Monday (17).

“The policy has always been to keep all options on the table,” said General Keith Kellogg to reporters after meeting with NATO European allies in Brussels.

“You don’t want to enter a negotiation where options are being discussed.”

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian president Vladimir Putin’s Aide for Foreign Policy Yuri Ushakov have now arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the Russo-American talks on the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War. The Russian delegation will meet with the U.S delegation, headed by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio tomorrow. https://video.nostr.build/b1ba9c4d40efc70b7c40031bc1b8a17f87aacf6d201a3c420228f8b40357a8d9.mp4 https://video.nostr.build/3ab2a0a2c6d5ab4962ec73df36eb6385e568ff871568164b186d10be6df74b13.mp4

Contradicting past comments from U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) and NATO Ministerial, U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg has said that President Trump has yet to fully rule out sending U.S forces to Ukraine for a peacekeeping missions.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk ruled out sending Polish troops to Ukraine earlier today before he left for the snap European security summit hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, France. This comes after Keir Starmer, prime minister of the UK, communicated his willingness to send British troops to Ukraine yesterday. Prime Minister Tusk did, however, commit to continue to provide the logistic and humanitarian support that Poland has long sent to Ukraine and promised to continue to be a key thoroughfare for aid and support efforts for European countries into Ukraine.
