There's no full verification of anything on the dollar side that is genuinely possible, BUT yes Taro and open stablecoins do remove one side of the obscurity over how much is being issued. It at least gives a public stablecoin audit to compare it to.
Exactly this has become my relationship with it in a very short amount of time.
I generally think CBDC's are dead in the water, & any attempt to compete with what makes bitcoin marketable will fail miserably. If Twitter & social media giants can't even make a decent payment implementation becuase of regulation and restrictions, then there is no way they will take the veritable revolutionary leap necessary to just let people use it. They will grasp for every last ounce of control and surveillance restrictions and issuance manipulation they can go for.
In fact, the only reason it even seems to be *interesting to them in the first place* is specifically because of the control, surveillance, inflation, and manipulation they can impose. In other words, I think a CBDC that has ANY of the valuable attributes of Bitcoin is 100% unmarketable to central banks and governments.

That's funny I actually like the touch interface on the sides. I'll admit it was a bit jarring at first but after a short while i grew really comfortable with it. Also a fan of Jade so wouldn't argue against it either.

I listen to 3-4. My physical reading of books is way down though, maybe once every 3 months or so. But I do a fuck ton of reading on screens, mostly articles though.

I feel like #bitcoin, #lightning, #nostr and the like have been a huge incentive for repurposing old computers & devices that would normally just get tossed out. 🤔
What feels like the 100s of different times and different versions and environments and docker instances in which I have installed the same python packages still confound me to no end. And how often I try to do something only to realize the version in the current thing I’m working in isn’t the right one and then trying to understand how and at what layer I need to update or downgrade python or pip or whatever - just hurts my face 🤣🤣

Yeah I think this disconnect is purely a perspective difference between going from a developer mindset -> to the user while mine and many others is from the user -> to the developer.
My thing is that testing and exploration of those who want to learn or understand is hit with such confusing barriers so incredibly quickly that you can’t really just “explore” very well. Which I think increases the divide

The one thing that has me hopeful is that because the establishment is so horribly woke, it is likely to make their AI products completely unworkable in the long term.
The open source alternatives that don't patronize the shit out of people will be useful in the real world and for real people, while centralized AI will only be useful to self-censoring woke morons.
