Interested in the similarities between alchemy and bitcoin.

It will be interesting to see whether nostr as a protocol will achieve widespread recognition or whether the apps built on nostr will dominate.

In fact should primal as example even care about nostr snd simply use it as a means of building a great app?

There are a number of such interesting tensions in this evolutionary phase.

It is very hard to know whether someone is consciously taking responsibility or passively bearing the responsibility of their actions without taking to them. We should be careful about what we assume to be going on in other people's minds, we may be decieving ourselves.

Lack of trusted app verification with regards to my nsec.

It matters not whether you are red or blue, democracy is the illusion both are clinging to in the US. Same in UK and Europe. Politics and media are owned. No point calling them out imo.

The studio is ready, Danny's flights are booked, and next week we’ll begin recording episodes for our new podcast.

I wanted to share the reasons behind this shift as many have been asking. Three primary factors influenced this decision:

1. I hate making remote shows—I never want to do them again. These interviews need the intimacy of being in person.

2. Traveling constantly has been detrimental to my health and my family.

3. My commitments here with the football club and local community are growing.

So, the solution was clear: build a studio in the UK and produce the show locally.

We’ve secured a fantastic space in Soho, London, and we’re ready to go but given the limited number of Bitcoin guests available in the UK or those willing to fly in, it’s time to retire What Bitcoin Did.

Our new podcast will be similar in feel but will cover a broader range of topics. While some episodes will focus on Bitcoin (though less frequently), most will explore other interesting topics or people.

Having made nearly 900 episodes covering a wide range of #bitcoin topics and guests, we’re now aiming higher. By diversifying our content and guests, we hope to introduce more people to the concept of sound money through podcast osmosis. If we get this right, it will be a bigger show, if we get it wrong, well we tried.

For a long time I have felt there is a need to get out of the #bitcoin corner of the party. Real Bedford FC was a way of integrating sound money into a traditional business model. CheatCode purposely did not include Bitcoin in the title, so changing the show feels like a natural next step.

Sometimes when stuck in the #bitcoin landscape you can lose site of how other people in the world think, lose empathy for the complexities of the world. I have felt this. I'd come home from spending two weeks with Bitcoiners and be with friends and family locally and notice a distinct difference in how we see the world. As everything feels like it is going to shit, I feel like there is a bigger job to do now.

The Bitcoin podcast landscape is well served, from Marty and Odell to Natalie and Preston, from The Blue Collar guys to Stefan Livera and anyone I haven't mentioned. There’s no shortage of high-quality Bitcoin podcasts.

However, there seems to be some fatigue in the space, with similar guests and topics being revisited. With our new show we want to bring fresh perspectives and ideas, aligning with sound money where relevant—think of the shows we’ve had with the likes of Eric Weinstein and Michael Malice.

On a personal note, I’m need the challenge, test myself wider, get fit and find a good woman. I can't do this travelling all the time.

When I started the podcast my life was a shit show - divorced, coming off drugs, heading towards bankruptcy. I've had an incredible 7 years, travelled the world, made amazing friends and got to live my dream by buying my local football club.

To everyone who has helped us get this far - the guests, the listeners, the sponsors, we could not have done this without you. I am forever in your debt.

I hope you’ll check out the new show and enjoy it, though it may not be for some of you. Regardless, Danny and I will work hard to deliver the best show possible, like we always have.

Roll on The McCormack Show!

Looking forward to seeing how you diversify.

Good luck.

Nostr is the only social media I have ever used and it captures something unique which is no one ownes it.

It can and will evolve and grow but winning is a paradox because by default this must imply inclusion of the social media users which it defeated and to achieve that it must be capable of accommodating views and types which it presently views as different.

We are growing.

On mobile, primal and damus. Also just started using nos.social because it's different and I'm interetsed to see how it develops, hopefully it will come off testflight soon.

On desktop, primal with an extension.

I’ve been off Twitter and all social media except for Nostr for a month now, and the results are hard to argue with.

I’ve started reading real books again (4 this month) and have noticed both my patience and attention increase noticeably. I also feel less angry and anxiety daily, along with being committed to my workout routine.

I found that Nostr has met my social media needs, most importantly, my own ability to self-limit with it. Nostr is a bit ‘boring’ compared to traditional social media because ITS NOT TRYING TO KILL YOU!!!

Controlling your own data isn’t nearly as important in terms of ownership, as it is about allowing that information to be used against you. All of your most intimate thoughts and feelings are data mining by massive corporations specifically to find emotional triggers for you, so they can sell you shit, or force thoughts on to you.

Fuck these people that run these companies that farm our emotions to sell us shit, and to work with corrupt government to censor our speech, sell out dissidents, and destroy our internet.

We are much, much, much more powerful than they will ever be because we don’t need force, corrosion, or permission to run these systems of social connections that they cannot destroy.

My month of social media detox has really lifted the veil from the hate industry complex that are all social media companies today. Stop prostitution your content, thoughts and powers to these shitty companies that enrich the scum of the earth, and empower illegal, unconstitutional and immoral government agencies from their dragnet surveillance.

I’ll make one last tweet explaining this and then nuking my account in the next few weeks. Then I’ll be Nostr only.

Don't be angry with Twitter or those who remain, let them be and be thankful you've found a new perspective which fits better with what's important to you.

Machines do not and won't ever be capable of understanding irony.

I do not know anything about telegram or the ceo but if this is the case the same argument could be applied against the ceo of any private communications system, including damus ceo, amethyst ceo, nos.social ceo, primal ceo.

So what is this signalling?

Each protocol have their legitimate aims and while there is some commonality in these aims does not mean they should be seen as being married.

Expressing some independence via a change of conference venue would be a healthy step.

btw, I have personally never felt bitcoin was being too aggressively promoted on nostr.
