That’s the point…anyone can plug their existing market place into Nostr just like they can plug in ₿itcoin. You don’t have to re-build the wheel, just extend what you already have.

So Nostr is basically a “protocol” on how people interact over the internet using a set format of json objects sending information between people. That being the case, this interaction is not limited to “Twitter imitations” but can be used for anything. You could re-create all forms of interactions. You essentially could build an app to look like Facebook, Instagram, Amazon and even eBay but using the Nostr protocol and using SATs to exchange value.

Bitcoin = exchange of value

Nostr = exchange of info

I tried the new zap feature on Damus just now but I cannot see that it was sent from the app. Only from the ln wallet. Is it supposed to show up in Damus?

This is different. You’re taking the onboard siri, converting the voice to text and sending that to an api for ChatGPT. You’re essentially creating your own ‘smart Siri’ using a simple GET or POST call

That’s 100% the issue with everyone and with everything. But at some level there is a level of personal accountability. Before you offer to take people’s money, you verify you can. There is a Hadeeth that states:

The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said: “There will come to the people a time when a man will not concern himself where his income is from, whether it be halal or haraam”

We all need to be careful when taking peoples money.

Unfortunately even inspirational Islamic figures aren’t free from shitcoinery… hopefully this is a mistake but if not, then I guess the temptation for easy gains was too strong.

I initially used a static file, but wanted to add the function for people to also use my server for access to my private relay. So you can only post to my relay if you’re also nip05 to our domain.

That’s why I hosted my own nip05. I was paranoid about letting someone else be in control of my badge lol 😂.

Took me a while to figure out why it wasn’t working initially (apparently Damus is case sensitive with the NIP05 address) but was worth it in the end.

It looks clean, but is lacking a LOT of functionality. No zaps, no DM’s, no follow or follows review. But it can at least add gifs without having to leave to app to get links.

Zapping ⚡️ is a bit hit and miss depending on the app you’re using and what lnurl they are using. It used to work with me from the posts until it just stopped. Now I can only zap directly from their profile page.
