It’s insane that 18 year olds are given $100,000+ loans, not required to provide any plan for paying them back, & spend the money on (mostly) useless “liberal arts” degrees that are neither liberal nor arts.

Then the government forgives those loans to buy their votes, using money printed out of thin air.

A truly insane and perverted incentive structure designed to create generations of incompetent NPCs that will forever suckle at the fetid teat of the State.

I just finished The Last Airbender Netflix series…

It was quite possibly the most densely packed “on the nose” writing of anything I’ve watched in years.

You could have told me that the entire thing was first written as script notes, and the director mistook them as first person dialogue. Practically every scene that progressed the plot is written with the character’s lines like “This is what I’m feeling. This is the history that is relevant to our situation. This is my motivation. Friends are good. Let’s continue toward our goal.”

I just don’t understand how a script like that can survive tens or even hundreds of million in budget. It’s incredible. 🤣

I will say it was a significant improvement over Shamalama DingDong’s film adaptation. But only because the bar was set so low. The Netflix series did have really great action scenes and VFX though. Some of it was a little iffy, but had the show been good nobody would’ve cared.

Also, the casting was bonkers.

Here’s a fun bear market story.

I was on a zoom call with two bitcoin friends when bitcoin was at $17k.

One friend a millionaire, the other a billionaire.

The millionaire was talking about buying bitcoin, but was anxious and wondering if he should wait for lower prices “what if it goes to 12k??”

The billionaire goes, “put a big slug of your money into this thing right now in the next hour. I just did.”

The millionaire goes “fuck, ok. I guess I will”.

The lesson?

The billionaire made his decision quicker and more aggressively than the millionaire. He didn’t wait around for anyone else’s opinion or approval. He acted with haste and encouraged others to do the same.

They'll think of some politically correct woke term to avoid sparking fear. It's not a bank run sir, but rather it's a "depository reassignment." 😂
