My 4 year old son was just discussing the different pilons used to distribute lateral load on large-span bridges...

I think it does a good job hitting the usual talking points they find important. Each chapter after the base is hits one like energy usage and environment, banking system, poor and marginalized people, inflation and wealth inequality, war and peace, etc.

I use "The Little Bitcoin Book" or "Magic Internet Money" myself. If I know the person is a liberal, I'll recommend "The Progressive's Case for Bitcoin" as it usually hits all of their key opposition points. All three can be quickly read and are easily digestible to a non-technical person, which is a biggie in my book.

If they come back to me after that, then I'll give them the next level reads.

They're good books but I find them terrible suggestions for complete newbs. I don't recommend those until they're already in the boat.

What would you do differently now you know? I just bought liquidity off someone else for my first lightning channel but now I'm questioning if I really needed to do that

I just started The Fourth Turning. Will try and get into these books as well.

Fiat standard is a really good book

Yeah I'm actually quitting in two weeks! I've been inspired to write cypherpunk/bitcoin and related themes fiction. Ambition is to write a book at some point, but will start with shorter stories and idea is to monetize some with unlocking them with lightning payments per story. Might have to spend some stack, or actually loan against some of that so I don't have to sell right now, but I'm at a point where I want and feel like I need to lazer focus on this. Translation work at Konsensus Network will start soon to yield tiny amounts - any income from a passion is a plus.

At least you like the job! That's a good place to be even if you're still searching for a more meaningful work.

in this particular case i will admit it was uncalled for but in general whenever somebody gives bad health or financial advice they are basically trying to kill me and my friends so any response is justified ...
