Restriction of the protocol or the software that implements the protocol? Couldn't you just have software that redirects profiles AND imports the same database of posts instead of just the former? Or is it a limitation of activity pub?
Same as popups. It's profitable but then companies get greedy and don't care what they push if they're getting a paycheck. Eventually we all block them they disappear and the cycle starts anew. Thinking we're on the tale end of the current business models.
