Why do coins still exist? Couldn’t we just agree to round up or round down collectively and just do away with them? If something cost 5.05 just pay 5. If it’s 5.51 just pay 6. Should balance out eventually and everything would reprice in whole units 🤔

Yes, I use GrapheneOS on one of my devices—and have used it as my daily driver for years—but recently moved away from it as my primary phone. My threat model allows for maintaining a front-facing web identity (which is often less suspicious in today's digital landscape). My main device (Pixel 9 Pro XL) now runs stock Pixel OS because it was built from the hardware up to enhance Gemini integration and productivity features.

I keep GrapheneOS (which is best in class at what it does) on a separate, more locked-down phone for specialized use cases requiring enhanced privacy and security. This privacy through isolation and compartmentalization approach lets me maintain both a public presence and private operations while keeping them properly isolated, rather than compromising by trying to make one device do everything.

Nobody uses iPhones to be flashy and proud of them… only an android user would say this 🤣

Apple has created a genuinely good experience and has a lot of good privacy features like browsing through relays, blocking trackers etc … there’s a lot of great UX especially for backup and restore convenience, family accounts etc. open source OS doesn’t have much if any of this - and the features they do have tend to be tedious and complex.

The photo location feature is definitely a huge fail. Not even going to defend that. My hope is that they fix this asap and stop don’t this kind of nonsense. It ruins their brand.

I don’t know anything about Siri recordings and I highly doubt any of this is true- it would be a huge breach of privacy. But, I also don’t use Siri, never have, and never plan on it.

I also have a degoogled android and frankly the UX sucks. It’s passable but far from ideal. Google in general produces shit designs including material design. But, I still use that phone and I definitely like the open ethos over apples closed ecosystem.

I don’t know why people get up in arms over cloud backups. No one should be storing any sensitive photos in the first place … the backups are convenient - even though they tie you into a subscription. As a rule of thumb I just don’t take any photos that I would not be willing to show to someone casually - like an acquaintance.
