I extended a Turo trip and was chatting with the person renting me the car. Their take was under 50% of the additional payment I made on the extension. Nostr fixes this. I ordered DoorDash today and forgot an item, but no way to add via app -- the guy bought the thing I forgot and I paid him physical cash, and he just took that counterparty risk of paying for and holding those goods for 20 minutes. Nostr fixes this.
Will there be challenges? Of course, but the demand for p2p, human exchange disintermediated from large faceless, fiat corps is palpable and people will make it work.
Ah, nvmd, looks like rendering is here too, fantastic, will greatly improve usability!
The updates come so fast on Amethyst, by the time I get annoyed #[1] has released it a few hours prior. ...now just need rendering of referenced notes as being quoted, and ellipses or numbers with decimala not being intepreted as URLs.
#[0]
Oh, I haven't downloaded that one yet. It happened to me when I wanted to click on a referenced note and misclicked.
It is too easy to accidentally boost notes on Amethyst #[0]
The title is clickbaity, but it is fact. I do not cater to the frame of the enemies of mankind. I will not so much as dignify their claims or sophistry with rebuttals.
Oh, and in case someone has not already mentioned it, there is a bug that makes the mining difficulty adjust based on hashrate for 2015 blocks, not 2016 (I forget if first or last that is dropped), and there are some theoretical attacks related to this that are interesting to read about.

Amethyst v0.17.1: Custom Zap amounts

The initial entry amount UX is rather bad... took me several tries
I find it hard to watch war movies, or narco entertainment since I understand the violence stems from fiat. I walked out of the theater when watching 1917 about 30 minutes in and waited for friends outside. There is intellectual understanding and then there is really getting it.

Bolt12 is also critical to IRL bitcoin tipping
As we've already gone over, you have literally made your entire persona center on being a whiny douchebag who lost. 🥱 You are quite good at making poor observations of the world in general so here we can add projecting your own nature onto me. Thanks though, glad you're not *that much* of a lunatic.
*the deadliest mountain in the world, thanks, fucking idiot.
The reaction everyone has when Nostr finally clicks for them

Yeah... I just zapped a guy I think is worth somewhere between 100 and 1000x as much as me the Amethyst 1000 sat default and everyone is zapping me half a cent or so worth of sats 😂
Yep, no such thing as a maxi, just people who understand Bitcoin and those that don't. The term maxi implicitly yields credence to the notion of a moderate position, which there is not.
It was a mimetic attack when Vitalik first used it against Junseth (if I have my history correct) and the reclamation of it is not necessarily great since not everyone wants to be a bitcoin berserker (their choice). "Bitcoin only" also gets attacked because people will use that to conflate with non monetary goods, consumption, real investment, etc.
What is the best mimetic term? I don't know, but I like this guy's approach.

When someone tells me they think Bitcoin & Nostr won't take away state power

E N O U G H

As you might imagine... I am thoroughly disliked and don't have all that many friends. 😂

Wild how some "bitcoiners" still see real estate as a store of value when these things exist 🤦♂️
I think this is #[0]'s point. #SkinInTheGame

Oh, so you are saying you believe people should also be criticized for being white? Why are you in bitcoin if you approve so much of collectivist guilt, neo-commie run public education on wokism funded by money printing? Are you filled with white guilt and feelings that you are inherently racist for your identity. Very strange. 🤡
Lol, it was a simple and likely the most pertinent question
Sci-Fi writers write for a world that may one day come to pass. So too must I shift my efforts toward building machines to be given to future generations, and not to be gazed upon by the unworthy eyes of my contemporaries. Their cretinous, blank stares sully the art of my creations.
Are you planning on hunting down and murdering Jews after hyperbitcoinization? Would you kill me for being Jewish if you had the chance and were confident you could get away with it?
Dietz suggests there is a power asymmetry from this emergent governance via contract, which may allow for dishonest actors to take actions that are net negative.
This is where bitcoin comes into play... when all real world economic activity is a short on bitcoin, there is an urgency to get OUT of the market, so dishonest actors will on average find their short positions degraded over time.
