Alright, time to finish this show...
Good night π
watching Trip to Infinity on netflix... the graphics are great & listening to mathematicians get excited is entertaining π
Should community posts show in your feed?
note1d933xkgmxm45q2x02pmyzv6wlm7zmyze89f34txfeajuzrxy8h8s8ldq7m
(I think I've understood this note from nostr:npub1r0rs5q2gk0e3dk3nlc7gnu378ec6cnlenqp8a3cjhyzu6f8k5sgs4sq9ac correctly lol)
Maybe that could be a toggle option?
/ Show posts from communities you are a member of
/ Show posts from communities anyone you follow post to
maybe that is overly complicated?
Could just be a community post feed toggle in eg amethyst?
Communities do sort of have a different vibe and maybe even be a niche type of user of nostr, is nost even active enough to have them not showing? Maybe that says more about who I am following.
And depending on where you post from they show differently (nostrudel has post within a community or post selecting drop down to a community, which affects title option and subsequent display)
I obviously have no technical understanding here lol
I like how amethyst handles community notes in the feed since it has the label up in the corner. It provides context & shows me things I may not otherwise know about, since searching out communities is not an easy task atm. I imagine those notes without the community label are probably kind of whack at times, in other clients.
A toggle for whether those are in the feed or not would be handy for people who just aren't into topics. Clever idea
I thoroughly believe in the cause. Everything has been broken for a very long time & nostr is the first real hope I have seen for a better future (aside from btc obviously but money is motionless without communication)
And understandable so! Vacuums
Is nostrapp.link kind of headed that way?
π I'm a sucker for the restaurants I like. Free appetizer? Yes. Then I get the text... STOP π
I think I subconsciously sign up for text message coupons simply because it's cathartic to text STOP without hurting any feelings
Doubly funny because I also can't see your reply to your own note on amethyst rn but satellite is displaying just fine π
h/t to nostr:npub1m50kd8xz26nt7uqmj46lwv2d2gd2548sty88947usf3uldtrknvqvahhfj and nostr:npub1504jj42t6flu5l6n7e389e9mt8gxduhnzuyv7dq4gr95w20mmpqscx0cg0 for the caption ideas ππ

I'm definitely not expecting to spark some mass exodus from FB but more users is necessary for scaling, conversion diversity, etc. A ton of reasons really, you is smart, you know. If current regular users could double the user base, I think it would go a long way in helping sort out a lot of issues by providing fresh feedback, data, surfacing new problems, whatever. I waited a long time to even try recruiting because I wanted to understand what I was using first. Then I waited longer because I much enjoy our weird little corner of the internet as it is. But growth appears to be flattening after the September push, so I figure it's time.
Nah... I'm not even trying to talk to those types.
π I can't say I've ever tried that but I get the gist.
I agree with all of that. I'm trying to put a lot of recruitment effort into the people I think would be good with this alpha phase too. Scaling requires user growth so I figured those are the type to target for the time being.
I actually think it's a little premature to try recruiting (I don't know how else to out it but...) low-level content creators who barely make anything off their work in traditional spaces because the audience just doesn't exist here yet. I believe it's more disheartening to put yourself out there & not be seen than it is to be ridiculed.
