TARIFFS ARE INFLATIONARY. STACK HARDER.
With the US–China trade war heating up, there’s no better time to double down on self-custody.
Here’s what’s new in Nunchuk’s latest release:
• Option to disable key path spending in Taproot multisig wallets
• Fee estimates for key path vs. script path
• Export transaction history to CSV
• Bug fixes & improvements for group wallets
We couldn’t reproduce the issue. Were able to successfully add a Coldcard Q key via QR. Are you sure you scan the correct QR?
They are completely different wallets. Without the seed phrase on testnet4, we can’t reproduce the issue.

from Bitcoin-Safe.Org with 1,000,000 satoshis for his work on Bitcoin Safe – a beginner-friendly multisig wallet for Mac, Windows, Linux, or anywhere Python runs. Why this matters 🧵👇
🔧 Development of Specter Desktop is no longer a priority at Swan. A vital open-source wallet has essentially become abandonware – leaving a painful gap in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
💡 Andreas, a former Specter developer himself, recognized this gap – and with Bitcoin Safe created a brand-new solution that already goes beyond what Specter offered.
🔒 What makes Bitcoin Safe special:
An open-source wallet focused on multisig and hardware wallet integration. It combines the strengths of Electrum, Specter, and @mempool – with Nostr functionality added in.
🧙 The beginner-friendly multisig wizard makes secure Bitcoin self-custody accessible – even for non-technical users.
🖼️ The graphical transaction display isn’t just functional, it’s beautiful. Even better than Sparrow! For Bitcoin artists like Fractal_Encrypt and nostr:npub1yp7wfa7msdpusf4vupzttttu2mx3cns7whx5cgkt4yr9pkpvujus2mzys7 it can be exported as vector graphics.

🌐 But the real gamechanger is the Nostr integration – enabling secure, decentralized PSBT exchange between cosigners.
🌐 It’s comparable to Electrum’s Cosigner Pool or nunchuk's proprietary chat – but here: fully open source, set up in seconds, and run via encrypted Nostr DMs.
🔗 Not just PSBTs – UTXO labels can be shared via Nostr too. A key building block for collaboration in multisig setups.
🌍 We’d love to see other wallet clients adopt this Nostr sync functionality as well – to increase client diversity, especially for organizations with varying needs.
🛠️ Bitcoin Safe delivers this critical workflow entirely open source – built on the decentralized Nostr protocol. A milestone for sovereignty in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
🤝 Open-source Bitcoin projects are chronically underfunded. That’s why it’s so important to support developers like Andreas who push boundaries and define new standards. Bitcoin Safe 💪
📣 Our support of 1,000,000 satoshis is meant to send a message:
High-quality open-source development deserves funding.

Open source stays alive – with your help.
FYI, our group wallet + chat is not proprietary.
It is open source and built on BIP129 (which we co-authored). More information in this blog: https://nunchuk.io/blog/group-wallet

Got chance earlier today to test out the nostr:npub1cvqlzvmjercdn0ypsmv8f7j9lge6ahsnueh5rparh53wuswftv4q49yjt3 Taproot Group Wallet feature with my pal nostr:npub18h0w55nsp839ezxnggf00jd2xc6yl0ht62mf5p8wwllu8s80wdcs83ws8m.
Have to say I am very impressed with the ease of use. Question for nostr:npub1cvqlzvmjercdn0ypsmv8f7j9lge6ahsnueh5rparh53wuswftv4q49yjt3, is the comms still using Matrix?

Thank you and no, the new Group Wallet doesn’t rely on Matrix at all. Check out our blog: https://nunchuk.io/blog/group-wallet
Thank you! 🫡
It's in the blog post (no, it's no longer using Matrix): https://nunchuk.io/blog/group-wallet

It does work with Start9 over Tor. You'd need a Tor proxy (Orbot or Tailscale) on your phone.
The ByBit hack essentially boils down to three things:
• Users failing to verify all transaction/contract details
• Users relying on a browser-based wallet that’s easy to spoof
• Ethereum contracts being fundamentally complex and mutable (“upgradable”)
Stick to Bitcoin and natively written wallets for serious money.

You know I did have problems but I just got it working - I’m on iOS and I never realized to use tor apps on Start9 via iOS you need Orbot:
https://docs.start9.com/0.3.5.x/device-guides/ios/tor-ios
Then I followed the Nunchuk instructions with the tcp:// prefix and it seems to work great!
https://github.com/nunchuk-io/resources/tree/main/docs/connection-guide
Glad to hear!
Sweet!
Ok, so I fucked around and found out: you can run Bitcoin Core + Specter on your server, create a watch-only wallet by importing your xpub and use that to derive new addresses as needed.
I think there’s a much simpler setup (xpub-tool, for example) but I couldn’t make derive the same addresses as my Nunchuk wallet. Tinkered with derivation paths to no avail.

Do you use a singlesig wallet? It should be using standard derivation (m/84h/0h/0h) for a NativeSegwit singlesig wallet.
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Do you mean for Taproot multisig? Nunchuk is already compatible with SeedSigner.
For Taproot multisig, the hardware vendors need to add support for MuSig2/Schnorr on their end. Currently, only Ledger has experimental support for it.
Correct, unlike mainnet and testnet, anyone can run their own signet instances. Technically there’s no “the” signet.
