Got 🥛 Nostriches !

There’s nothing like waking up, cleaning up the dining table, doing the dishes, because you were too tired and tipsy to do it on the spot last night.

A small victory to start the day !

💋

this could be the name of an album.

I usually let it burst, then do push-ups until I get tired and finally breathe a lot.

Replying to eee8f902...

I’ll join in on today’s trending #radiohead topic. Long time Radiohead fan, amazing band! I have a bit more of morbid connection with them though, unfortunately.

16 June 2012 - I would finally get the chance to see them perform for the first time, an outdoor gig in Toronto, ON.

But the show never happened.

For context, I’m an ex-stagehand (pushing cases, setting up audio/lighting gear, doing changeovers, loading trucks etc.), but also worked a quite a bit of site-ops (infrastructure of the venue, fences, trailers etc.) - that’s what I was doing this day (thankfully).

Anyhow, it was the big day. Sun was shining, stage was up, audio/lighting rigs were up. Radiohead had their gear on stage, their impressive giant moving lightning/projection rig was being tested, their roadies were doing some soundchecks. As I understand it, the band were close to coming on stage themselves to do a check. Bear in mind, this is a few hours before doors, so no crowd yet.

Myself and a few other dudes had just helped build the barricade at the front of the stage. We were just getting things finished up. We were probably exactly front-centre of the stage at this point.

That is when I heard THE SOUND. A giant, really fucking loud crack or snap. I looked up, I can only describe what I saw as the roof of the stage “bouncing”. It’s at this point my instincts said… RUN. Which I did - really really fast, and I didn’t look back. As I ran, I remember the sound of someone on stage screaming something to the effect of FUCK. Followed by the loudest sound of destruction I’ve ever heard as the stage roof came crashing down. I specifically remember the sound of imploding glass, which I assume to have been the massive lighting and screen rigs that were attached to the ceiling.

The sound eventually stopped, and it felt like there was just absolute silence for an eternity. I turned around and remember thinking to myself - everyone on that stage is dead. What followed was a blur. People trying to climb into the wreckage, I remember some of the crew crawling out from the trusses. I even remember a disoriented roadie trying to save guitars, passing them off the front of the stage.

Tragically one life was lost in those moments, Radiohead’s drum tech Scott Johnson

What followed was years of trials and inquests. Ultimately nobody ever paid the price for negligence that allowed this to happen.

Anyway, there we have it nostr. A notable event from my life shared with you all.

RIP Scott 🫡😢

(before photo: If you look closely you can see a figure on the ground in front of the stage & barricade. That’s me.)

thanks for sharing this story, horrible and sad.

something’s fishy

Got 🥛 Nostriches !

This path is painful, but trust me, after a few back and forth, it's worth it.

your feet and whole body will thank you later.

We don't own a house, we rent one.

it's easier for us to move around, select what we need at a specific moment in time during our life.

Lots of kids, a big house.

no more kids, a small house.

getting old, a flat.

That looks EPIC ! 🕺

BTW, just to remind the community that there will also be a #NOSTR event in Annecy (such a beautiful city too!) before #Nostriga.

Support the guys putting @nostralps together ;-)

Got 🥛 Nostriches !

Sometimes Japon and sometimes Japoff.

Life is beautiful, enjoy it !

Hi Marko,

Thanks for your quick response !

My message might have lacked some context:

On Damus, when I type the word Kiss, the emoji appears.

On Plebstr, I type milk and it appears as well.

But, it doesn't appear on Primal.

Maybe something with my Phone ?

So basic introduction for anyone interested: I am a gray hat hacker and cybersecurity awareness activist who likes to stir up privacy-centered networks. I have probably met some of you before.

I actually came here looking for a challenge. I've been lurking around here in some form or another for about 4 months now, playing with different clients and tools, even running my own testnet (3 stirfry relays on a VLAN). Mostly I have been focused on the community and how people use different clients. I've been playing with some good open source tools and getting an understanding of how to interact with relays.

Personally I'm not all that into Bitcoin, but I do have a whole BTC in cold storage so I guess I've got that going for me. This whole lightning thing is new to me, I don't really ever spend Bitcoin, and my actual business makes me plenty of fiat.

So far I am impressed with the community. A little too wild-west in some areas since there's hardly any moderation tools, and the community isn't quite interested in the same things that I am, but I do see a lot of advocacy for privacy and digital freedom, and I like that.

But the whole system here is, regrettably, broken. The promises made about Nostr don't live up to reality. A network like this has the potential to become so much more, but there is a lot to lose if it is done wrong.

I intend to help expose these problems. Expect me here for a while. There are a lot of vectors for attack, and I plan to give them all visibility.

Nostr devs, please pay attention. With no centralized network development, all of you are responsible for fixing these issues.

Hi !

Looking forward to seeing what you have found out.

Got milk Nostriches !

A question for nostr:npub16c0nh3dnadzqpm76uctf5hqhe2lny344zsmpm6feee9p5rdxaa9q586nvr :

Would it be possible to make emojis appear directly when one types the word, on Primal IOS ?
