No, you get responses back but not everyone in the broadcast sees them. Just the broadcaster.

It isn't encrypted the way I prefer but the broadcast feature is nice to communicating with a group of people one way without all the mess of group texts. I beg my family to stop group texts.

Anyone interested in some homeschooling consulting? I have a passion for providing support for homeschooling parents and have worked professionally in this area, but for the past few years I've been making babies and chasing toddlers instead of working. But I'm missing it and would love to offer my services for free and just for fun!

It can entail just about anything you need, just ask me and I will let you know if its in my capacity!

I know I can send and can't receive! It sucks. My nod is hiding.

Me me me. And I think it is a crucial part of brain development for children and needs to be taught still.

This is a good list but the curriculum that is hidden is the key to success, so don't forget the following: truth, discipline, loyalty, courage, humility, forgiveness, respect, faith, strength, etc .

How can you foster creativity without boredom, ingenuity without problems, courage without fear, justice without consequence, self control without responsibility, success without failure?

Pondering my children's education today. And poor choices I've made in the past as a parent.

The next #yogastr is Monday, February 24.

I have to ask myself, on 2/24, the day that Agent Cooper entered Twin Peaks, what kind of yoga would Agent Cooper do?

GM—first coffee, then discussions…

This might be a controversial topic, but it’s how I feel—

Do you think kids should get awards for everything they do? For example, schools hold quarterly awards ceremonies for grades, and some sports leagues hand out medals after every game, plus a trophy at the end of the season—even if the team didn’t win a single game.

Personally, I think school awards should happen once at the end of the year, based on overall performance. When I was a kid, they just sent home a paper saying ā€œHonor Rollā€ or whatever—there wasn’t a whole ceremony that required parents to miss work.

And sports? Don’t even get me started. I don’t believe in medals and trophies if the team didn’t win—yes, even for little kids. They don’t even know what a medal or trophy is until you start handing them out.

Cheer them on, support them, love on them! But they don’t need a participation trophy.

Imagine if NFL players got a medal after every game or if every team got a Super Bowl ring. That’s not how it works at the professional level—so what exactly are we teaching our kids?

I don’t usually rant here, but I thought this was a good topic to throw out there. Curious what you think!

Just about everything a kid has should be earned. And if its not earned, it is a gift and it should be very clear that it was a gift.

Couple things I find true. You can't control when they finally are tired enough to fall asleep, but you can control when they wake up. So I change the time I wake them up to adjust their schedules.

And restful sleep at night. With one of my kids, I would let him sleep solid for the beginning of naptime but would go in his and stir him up in intervals to make sure he slept through the night. I was so frustrated that he could take a four hour nap without waking up but couldn't sleep fours at time during the night... Well I fixed that.

Most toddlers need about five hours between nap and bed, so figure out how much time your kiddo needs and then wake him up accordingly from his nap.

Its not the $300 pencils, its the artist. I don't think that I could make $300 pencils do that.

First of all, no wife should give the silent treatment.... Not fair, not nice.... But if he really just wants to get past it and ignore whatever dysfunction funk they have going on. He should just bring her flowers, take her out to dinner, give her some attention, make her feel loved and then say I know I'm a dick sometimes, but I'm the dick that loves you. Please tell me how to be a better dick.

Corrie ten Boom's book is one of the best.
