Don't kill me here, but if we advocate for a bitcoin standard and by extension that end result means that, in the future, not your keys not your coins will no longer be feasible at the block chain level because you'd have to pay extraordinary fees just to transact from your self custodied wallet. What then will become of the mantra?
Solutions being developed are federated and cashu mints. I understand the intent is to ensure you know and trust the mints/misters but might this just be the beginning phase of that with etfs skipping the cashu/fedi mints and sticking with bankers.

What comes to mind we you see "hand made" inscribed on an item on a store shelf?
Picture that same item right next to a mass produced item. Which is likely cheaper?
Who is most likely to have made the mass produced item? Who owns those companies?
The few rich sell to the mass poor and the mass poor leave the fee rich with the pick of the litter for beautiful hand made or artisan unique items.
The hand made/custom item might generate just enough to make ends meet and the rich have a one of a kind item. Who has the better end of the stick?
I don't say this to incite outrage but rather to illustrate what might be thr implications of mass produced AI products that are currently being pumped out.
What happens when the masses no longer produce quality "hand made" custom pieces?
What then will be left for the masses to sell to the few?
At this time I feel more comfortable with a fedimint approach to ecash. Its very likely a lack of education on the mechanisms that make it possible.
Im torn because I know this is inevitabke the future of bitcoin but its almost contradictory to the core tenants of bitcoin.

It may be costly to self custody on chain when you have to constantly transfer for bills.
Im not an expert but in the states I think zues wallet is the only viable self custody lightning wallet.
I know there are not alot of fans of coinbase but they do have a debit card that can be used to spend your Bitcoin for daily purchases.
Best option right now though would be as already mentioned spend on credit and pay off all at once with bitcoin.
Get cash back or perk points and it can hold you over should price fluctuate crazy right before a big bill.
