Got approached by one of those salesmen in a Target while in California on a road trip. I told him I definitely wasn't interested in what he was selling, but thought to try and drop some small orange pills. Told him I'd send him bitcoin equal to the dollar amount of whatever his commission would be if he'd listen to a short pitch and download a wallet (I had him get Strike app from nostr:nprofile1qqsvf646uxlreajhhsv9tms9u6w7nuzeedaqty38z69cpwyhv89ufcqpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp08we5fd and sign up) and then text me.

well, they kinda did. they're more like OpenNode. they dont do fiat conversions so just the Lightning piece. we are pretty unique there, we have BTC/USD, BTC/EUR, BTC/GBP, BTC pairs in Africa, etc. in fact, our biggest business by far is selling bitcoin, not Lightning.
but yeah they talk the same vision, Lightning as the value transfer protocol for the world. thats great, good for everyone

part of bitcoins security design is to assume the majority of the network are honest nodes and bitcoin uses the longest chain of work. it’s in the whitepaper
if all of us can be bribed with cheap deals humanity doesn’t value hard money enough to protect it.
