Not alone in your dissent but probably pretty close to alone on when you took action.

Takes a lot for the average person to give up what they’re used too. They just want messages to work, people to see their pictures, and a place to buy and sell goods.

I tend to agree. But after seeing the rapid adoption of #threads yesterday I’m less optimistic. Do most people not care?

#nostr needs better onboarding, global feeds, opt-in algorithms, spam protection. It will never make its way to global audiences the size of Twitter unless there is a sufficient amount of free relays, too. The content needs to be ubiquitous across all relays or engagement is going to drop.

But, I agree. Long term outlook. Just anxious to see quicker adoption.

“If you have people working for you, you must take from them more in cash value than you pay them in wages; but you can so organize your business that it will be filled with the principle of advancement, and so that each employee who wishes to do so may advance a little everyday”

It’s a fallacy that bad businesses thrive for long. It is against the nature of the universe. Most successful businesses, I’d argue, provide ample growth for their clients and their employees. Any outliers will soon find themselves washed away by the evolution of man. As we grow, we will tolerate these restrictive, greedy, companies less and less.

Greed, for now, is good. But anything that stands long will share in the advancement of all humanity.

Is this project open source as well? I would love to take a look.

Don’t need to pay for a relay but you might need to add more relays to your account. Did you onboard through Damus? I’m seeing your content.

One is likely lead by serious Dogma, the other not. Both sides being triggered have been dogmatized beyond self consciousness. It’s bizarre to see.

Got to admire nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m for being willing to say such controversial things while being in a position of significant importance. I’ve really come to admire him.

Put my money where my mouth is and just deleted my #instagram and #threads. Kept my Facebook open this long for development with Facebook Pixel and the SEO tools. Deleted #Facebook now, too. Seeing threads has renewed my passion for decentralization, privacy and security.

I’m not convinced it will be #nostr but it’s a good start.

I can’t help get the feeling that I’m the product while using #threads. I know it’s not some massive revelation, but it’s just so obvious there?

Being tied to my instagram account makes it so much worse. Being involved in the open source space, the fediverse, bitcoin, has completely ruined me for products like #threads. When I was 17 I would have bought in immediately, but now I can’t get myself too.

nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s made a good point - we need to all delete these apps and stop normalizing the corporate voyeurism. I don’t know how anyone can trust Facebook. I also have a hard time understanding how anyone can trust their content being associated with themself and their government name.

Extreme altruism is no better and no nobler than extreme selfishness; both are mistakes

Of course you’re representing with the Thinkpad. How do you code and drink? Every time I try I just end up drinking 😅

I think it would be helpful if there was more information about relays while on boarding. But I’m really glad to see the popularity increasing!

#Damus ui feels so good since the last update. I love that the text on a post is smaller. Unless I’m crazy? Haha. So excited for the continued development of this platform.

Light exercise to promote flexibility and functionality is not bad for you. This seems like cope in a lot of ways. Pounding protein and grinding out weight lifting might be bad for you in the long run, but it’s not going to be worse than a sedentary lifestyle which the “nerd” seems to be promoting.

Running isn’t bad for you either, that’s also cope. I do, however, agree with the general message of the video. Influencers are fucking scam artists. They’re selling a lie.

Hiking, pushing our bodies to the limit, long walks and runs, are all great for us.

Not a fan of governments forcing private companies to do anything. No matter how “good”. I don’t want to force them to be what I want.

How is it a win over time? The trajectory here looks grim with Apple.

Seems like #nostr is dying?

Great read. I love the use of the term “pre-crime”. We got to support any large company when they’re doing the right thing. The snobbery in the “fedi”-verse will be it’s own demise.

#[0] any chance you’ll leave a zapless version of Damus up on the App Store ?
