If this keeps happening Nostr won't last very long.

I don't think any moderation should happen at a protocol level. If Nazis and communists can use http they should be able to use nostr.

Premium relays can do moderation and users can subscribe to clean relays by choice.

Clients can have features to only show follower notes, or people within 1 degree. Perhaps have inference models to scan notes of unknown users.

Moderation needs to be done at the individual level.

Unfortunately, if someone with an average IQ can’t sign up for your social network or product within a few simple, guided, clicks, with nothing more in depth than entering an email, then you will never reach mass adoption.

Attempts to build apps "on top of" Nostr or that "use Nostr" are wrong, harmful and abusive, and will necessarily fail.

Nostr wants open protocols to be built on it, not proprietary shit that is trying to use relays as their private free databases. This behavior should not be encouraged.

Maybe ban IP is not a good way, there is the AI method to recognize spam content, ban spammer pub key if they send content fulfill the model.
