Bitcoin : Cutting the crap
If you look at the bulls, they are bonkers.
If you look at the bears, they are also bulls, but trying to do market timing. Which is bonkers. Mate, while you wait for 20 again, it's go to 50 and you'll FOMO in at 50. Just buy it now.
What to do, BUY NOW or do dollar cost averaging.
Then wait for the ride. To 150K? 500K? 2M? who cares. It's at 30 FFS.
I miss Mondo 2000
Good Friday Tune
IF
Actually, it will, but it will be a much slower process.
It's happened before - it used to be Sterling before the Dollar.
It is bad, you don't want it to happen, but it won't be a sudden bloodbath, more a decades long decline.
BREAKING!!!! AMAZON CRYPTO NEWS!!!!
Amazon have worked out how to monetise Alexa.
Every time you ask it to do something, 100sats
Bitcoin IF USA gvt locks down the fiat ramps.
The rest of the world (esp China and Arabia) continues to stack cheap sats.
After a few years the US Gvt bows to pressure from it's institutions and it rises really fast.
Who loses? US retail investors. No one else. We gain.
I had to do the copy/paste into Alby thing, not a zap.
Nice Nostrich BTW. Do I get a Tester Badge :-)
People say that, but about half of us could play an instrument or two, and most of them were in a band or three, so we appreciated "interesting" stuff. And we had punk, so "sound different" was what counted. We ALL thought we were brilliant, so, though who actually were, made it :-) We also valued music. Most of our money went on buying it. Only rich kids bought the flash clothes.
THIS made it to Number Two in the singles chart. The proper one. Ordinary people bought it. Not art musos.
Do anything you like, just be eyes open.
I'm actually hugely invested in BTC, but a lot of people here seem to be more "faith" based than rational. You need to be rational so that if it goes wrong, that was an assessed possible outcome and not a black swan personal financial demolition. Good luck :-)
HERETICAL OPINION : BTC vs CASH is THE WRONG COMPARISION when looking at BTC as an investment.
Cash hasn't been considered a thing to hold term ever (well, maybe before WW1, but, long enough).
So, BTC as CASH MONEY - that's a chat about LN (which I love, because, brilliant).
BTC as store of value, you need to compare against other actual stores of value. Gold, land, equities, baskets of lowish risk stuff.
Against that, if you take a "they won't win" view, BTC does well and should do very well until it fills it's natural portfolio niche, which, yes, pick a number between 250K and 2M and a timeframe of 5-15 years, after which, it should get boring and solidly inflation proof.
Relay discovery is a problem that needs to be solved. Are you a dev? I have ideas :-)
Broad spread investments. They might not do much, but they should protect from inflation. IMO US equities tend to be overpriced so maybe avoid that market.
But BTC COULD go to zero. We are at the "then they fight you" stage, and we haven't yet got widespread merchant adoption. It's only money if it can be turned into food. It is possible that Gvts could in effect break that step IF they decide to co-operate to do so. UNLIKELY (I'm long, remember), but certainly not non zero.
CASH is not, and never has been, a thing to hold long term. To an extent the BTC vs Cash thing is valid re "lightning for instant settlement", but a red herring if it's "buy BTC for long term value". The correct comparator there is maybe gold, but better still, a "low risk" basket.
Today we are enjoying YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/@AdamSomething for top class engineering and architecture snide.
They wouldn't ALL be bought by high net worth psycopaths. I'd be in there too.
Oh.
Bored now. Mute.
Not sure of the question, and you'd need to ask a techie, but Nostr isn't designed as privacy centric. For example you can view Nostr as anyone by using their pubkey (not sure if this would tell you who is in DM chat, but it might. Easy experiment anyway).
But depressed people, manic people, all sorts are on those meds.
If you want to argue that people on meds shouldn't have guns, we'd be in complete agreement.
But the reason most trans people are on meds like that is because society makes life pretty hard for them, not because of anything inherently trans. As can be seen where societies have a place for trans, or just don't make it an issue.
Also, corrolation cuts two ways. there is a 100% corrolation between people who commit mass shootings and who like guns. There is a much lower one if you run it the other way.
Lets agree that only healthy well balanced people should be able to have guns, and those who are on meds, for whatever reason, probably shouldn't. (This is pretty much the UK legal position. Need those meds, gun licence lost. And scandal when ill people keep it and shoot people, like in Plymouth a few years back)
The man whose Internet was too slow to sync the chain in 2013, and who was too smart to trust Mt Gox, reading about the fact that there will be a Mt Gox payout... (yes, me)

I for one will always be concerned that in trying to make a public world private, someone made a coding error. You can CLAIM to have bolted on privacy, but that's a statement I would have to take on trust because I lack the tech skills to read the code and verify.
I don't like trusting much. Obviously I have to at times, but that means that for private stuff, I go to things designed ground up to be private.
Obviously you can , and should, build whatever interests you, but if you have other ideas more suited to a public realm, maybe they would be better.
All the best
Americans. You lucky lucky bastards. You can IRA your BTC!
You need to add it to your clients list of relays. That's it :-)
And thanks for joining. You are clearly a person of taste :-)
People are gay in exactly the same way I'm straight.
They just are. It's not a choice, any more than it's my choice to be 5'8".
Simple acceptance solves a lot of the strife.
Well folks it's been fun, but late here, nighty night :-)
Human biology is simply more complex than you might like.
A kilt is a skirt. It's one worn by men, but it's a skirt.
Dicks. Why do you care what people do with their dicks? Decreed? By whom? Certainly not biology, which has given us a small percentage of gay people, and if you're religious, then people are gay because GOD made them that way.
If this is a Christian thing, I tend to respect the ones who have followed the words of Jesus as reported by Matthew and given away their wealth and followed him. It's a high bar, but those are the words.
It's just cultural. Take drag. When Shakespeare was writing EVERY CHARACTER was played by a man. Juliet was a teen boy in drag.
I got married to my hot as hell Red Army kicking Lithuanian wife wearing a skirt like this one.

Gay and drag, you don't need lines for that, just "are they good people?". That's the only line that matters for any one really.
