Iāve been using headscale on a vps for a while. Works great!
Use Robosats and Bisq in the meantime
How do you believe so? I assume because enforcing strict transaction use requires more and more filters in the future? In that case you might be right. But I was referring to being conservative on the use case of Bitcoin. Not necessarily the code base. Although I would also be down to discuss and look for consensus changes to Bitcoin to keep arbitrary data out. I donāt know how and I too like the advantages of P2SH. But I like to think we have decades to think about this. Thatās what I mean by conservatism. Not getting frustrated when seemingly good changes to Bitcoin are not there yet after years. Thatās okay.
I favour conservatism and strict transaction use. I think it would serve Bitcoin better. That said, I would not bet on futures. Because Iām not putting funds on an exchange. And there is an easier option to show discomfort. Namely, choosing the more conservative node implementation/donāt upgrade for now.
The whole point is is to derail the rational debate Julius. Because there isnāt any. BSV went down the same path and got CSAMā¦. DONāT TAKE THE RISK! Get it? Just donāt take the risk.
Less is better than more spam
Yes paul lamb on youtube has a great video for this
I think that would be cool too and likely a good way to deal with storing arbitrary data on chain. And I would say if we want to go down that path, it would be good to establish an environment that is adversarial to arbitrary data in every stance.
Tweaking this value as a relay setting to filter non-monetary data would make relaying it harder if many nodes would enforce it right? I fear Bitcoin suffers the faith of Usenet by gradually opening the gates to non-monetary data.

The Usenet user experience was initially built around threads of conversations, but it didnāt take long for users to realize that a medium used to share and broadcast messages could be used to share and broadcast any sort of binary data, simply by encoding that data as if it were text. It wasnāt long after Usenet was first made available to commercial ISP users that new newsgroups under the alt.binaries. umbrella began to proliferate, with threads of dozens of messages representing pirated software and pornographic movies, encoded as text and split into multiple posts.
It was tremendously inefficient to share binary data in this way, but those inefficiencies didnāt impact the users; since the costs werenāt born by the uploaders or downloaders, but instead the newsgroup server operators ā typically Internet Service Providers offering Usenet access to their users āalt.binaries traffic proliferated until the free riders had exhausted the resources made available to them. As the amount of storage required to maintain access to the alt.binaries newsgroups increased over the years, many larger ISPs decided that the Usenet juice wasnāt worth the storage squeeze, and stopped offering access to Usenet entirely. Smaller ISPs, desperate not to lose customers, found themselves racing to purchase high-end storage appliances to store all the alt.binaries data in a desperate attempt to keep the free rides going.

I like what Coinkite built with key teleport. But sending private keys through it remotely worries me. I will never feel sure that both channels were secure and there was no MITM-attack. How could I be absolutely sure that Iām talking to the authentic person. Assume phone and pc compromised.
What authentication method do you use?

Raspiblitz users, if you donāt want to wait for the next release to run Bitcoin Knots and you are not that tech savvy or confident like me, Paul Lamb released another great video on this: https://youtu.be/nRoAyZG2taE?si=csPh6CU-N0ScMWqZ
After that you can follow this video to learn about your node settings so you can change them the way you like: https://youtu.be/Ck4Rf1hX2is?si=LpI9iyeo-1Ng5txQ

Ooh yes Paul Lamb did it again! Great videoās too! Was waiting for Bitcoin knots on Raspiblitz.
Where is the translate post button? Might be good to onboard some of the freedom loving people from more oppressed countries!
Iemand stuurt mij wel eens Volkskrant artikelen over Bitcoin. De meeste hebben zoān duidelijke mening, totaal niet objectief of van meerdere kanten belicht. Dit artikel daarentegen is schokkend maar informatief! Eindelijk, goed werk.
