The biggest issue I see here is, how do you store and backup notes while keeping them private. Requiring users to run their own relay for this is a non-starter if you want more than a few people to use it. Yes. 100% agreed. That’s coming very soon too Olas; it uses NIP-29, which means you can create a private community only accessible for people you allow to come in and content is only published to the relay(s) where your community lives.

IMO nostr needs
A) more clients set up like signal in terms of structure and nonprofit status - not reliant on profit seeking which is hard on nostr anyway, but focused on donations and privacy/freedom (honestly nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 seems perfect for this set up)
B) wayyyyyy more funding - at client level to grow and through nostr funds
We shouldn’t be ok with nostr at several thousand daily users. It should be millions and we’re pushing on year 3 of many of us being here.
Funding for bitcoin-focused development is still lacking, especially compared to shitcoin dev funding. STILL. Nostr is gonna take time too.
Is it possible to have "private" nostr accounts where you control who can and can't follow you? I think a lot of people value that element of Instagram/Twitter/Facebook. I'd feel safer posting pics on #olas, for instance, if I knew only people I trust can see my photos.
