I’m glad to hear the tough questions are being asked. No doubt the nature presents serious hurdles.
Conversely, the “TikTok problem” seems like an excellent litmus test for nostr’s long-term viability.
As always, I’m bullish, but, ultimately, the people want what the people want.

The current (and necessarily ongoing conversation) about nostr’s killer app doesn’t seem to have touched on video—at least not that I’ve seen. Yes, it’s only a media type, but video is undeniably king.
As much as I have no use for it, personally, who’s building the TikTok of nostr?
Excellent book.

It’s badly in need of an editor, but the ideas and insights are worth the money.
“The resolution of interpersonal conflicts via social norms enhances liberty as it reduces a society's litigiousness, reduces the perceived need to cover one’s back instead of doing the best thing in any given situation, reduces the need to ‘lawyer up’ and allows human beings to interact and solve problems on their own. It is a pro-social mechanism of dispute resolution. We argue that not only would this lead to a friendlier and more harmonious community, but it would also lead to the expansion of liberty.”
“The same words yield vastly different responses based on who is doing the reading or listening. We can see this very clearly in the case of the US Constitution. This governing document was meant to limit the powers of government to only those that were relatively well-defined. Unfortunately, it has not been able to stand its ground. From either side of the aisle, the Federal Government is in the business of doing many things it rather explicitly cannot do based on a common-sense reading of the Constitution.”
“This is the problem with creating one central document meant to govern a whole massive country. It will, with the appropriate amount of time, always work to expand the scope of central authority. The US has gone from one of the smallest governments in history to now being the largest government in the history of the world by a number of metrics.”
“This is not to say that no collusion could take place, but rather that it cannot systematically exist within this model for a long period of time. This is vastly different from the current situation in many countries around the world, where the government investigates the government and finds that the government did nothing wrong. The same idea cannot persist in the incentive structure of an FPC.”

Hot, stronger, thief. Right up there with “mistakes were made.”
“The New York Times reported, ‘Inflation Stronger Than Expected.’ The Wall Street Journal reported, ‘Hot Inflation Report Weakens Case for Fed’s June Rate Cut.’ The accompanying editorial is even better: ‘The Inflation Thief Rises Again.’”
