Loving nostr!

I ran chromium forever until someone pointed out, that the Google tracking is very deep in the code and can't be pulled out. I cannot verify that but it was enough to make me look elsewhere

Browsers are a rabbit hole:

Chrome: Google spies on you

Chromium: lol, same

Egde: Microsoft spies on you

Firefox: Google spies again.

Brave: ?

What's the limit where you'd move on to MySQL or Postgress? In terms of database size/traffic?

Great stuff. Can I suggest a tiny fix? The clock moves around on my display every single second, because seconds is not a monospace font. That affects all clock elements on the screen. Maybe make div.number fixed width and center the text inside, so that the other elements don't wiggle as much? Or change to a monospace font

Burning coal is way more awesome. Less clean but more fun.

I synced my new node in under one hour. Say what?

Here's how you migrate your node without doing the initial block download.

Requirements:

- old node hard drive, synched

- new 1 TB hard drive

Process:

- mount old drive to new node

- copy folders into bitcoin data folder

Details as to how this is done on a start9 embassy node:

Install and launch bitcoin core. Shut it done right away. You don't wanna download block data, just make sure the folder structure is in place

Connect your hard drive and ssh into the new node after installation.

You need to copy three folders:

- bitcoin/blocks

- bitcoin/chainstate

- bitcoin/indexes

like so:

sudo cp -r /path/to/old/bitcoin/data/folder/blocks /embassy-data/package-data/volumes/bitcoind/data/main/

sudo cp -r /yourpath/bitcoin/chainstate /embassy-data/package-data/volumes/bitcoind/data/main/

sudo cp -r /yourpath/indexes /embassy-data/package-data/volumes/bitcoind/data/main/

This way, I could move 9.5 gigs per minute on 2013 Intel hardware. The transfer took me 58 minutes

An hour later, I have a mostly functional node and can move on to initializing other apps such as electRS and mempool

I am migrating my node to Start9 Embassy OS this weekend.

Pretty impressed so far with the UX.

Dumbest thing I've read in a while. I would store my keys in a hot blue wallet before I would be using ledger

100%

Nothing like a zap from one of your heros

I don't want to hear anything. I just listened to what was said and the hype made around it is hardly justified

Wordpress works fine, but programing for it is tedious. PHP the language just sucks. Just my opinion so not very relevant for you mate

PSA: No politician who spoke at the conference is a bitcoiner. Just listen to the dumb things they said about it. Particularly RFK so far is orange washing his campaign. The other guy speaks about bitcoiners being a "backstop". Fuck that.
