This doesn't answer the question of why half of the clients break URLs that are slightly longer than the penises of the authors of those clients 😀.

Ну понятно, что регион блок это очень просто или там кириллица вполне терпимо. Именно русский уже будет сложней. Если просто китайский грохнуть то скорей всего просто. Но тут действительно может это и перебор 😅 И впрямь мастодонщиной попахивает. Единственное, что конечно никто 1 relay в списке не держит, nos.lol есть у всех. И ещё десяток. Китайцы не пропадут. Опять же relay.wellorder.net грохает русский как спам и никто не бухтит, всем всё норм.
Я не просто так вчера всех с рождеством поздравлял на китайском. Русский relay он сейчас меньше всего похож на русский relay и вполне сойдёт за какой-то очень мелкий китайский паблик. Очевидно демография выправляться не будет и даже хуже, будет дальше смещаться в сторону китайских пользователей. Ну и как бы японцы этот вопрос решили тем самым «relay как сообщество» введя ограничения. Надо ли следовать их примеру?
Можно окуклиться географически, по языку или по письменности, из радикальных блокнуть конкретно 汉字 или повысить PoW. Можно ничего не делать. Нас тут мало, голосования никакого не будет. Так, мысли вслух.
I tried to onboard my friends tonight and had a heck of a time. Both had iPhones so I got them both on Damus. And they could show me their QR code. But once I got it, I couldn't figure out how to paste their public key into my phone client to follow them. I tried nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg, coracle (nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn) and amethyst (nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z) and none of them had an obvious way to follow someone by pasting a pubkey.
Also one installed nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm but couldn't figure out how to connect it to Damus nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955, and I couldn't either.
Eventually I followed them both after they posted and I searched for them.
This needs to be easier on phone clients. There need to be maybe more menu options? Or maybe they are hidden somewhere? I had bragged about how much I know about nostr and am involved in nostr, and then I couldn't even get them setup. It was embarassing.

People spend money to get 7 thousand likes and 300 thousand views of their post on Twitter, and it means something there, but it doesn't mean anything on Nostr. In Nostr, you need to bribe real people, not bots.
1. People still won't use Nostr. Even BlueSky will be more popular than Nostr.
2. Everyone will continue to use Lightning.
3. There will be more projects with -str in the name.
