Yes it is. This is the strongest geomagnetic storm we’ve had since 2017, I think.
The #NorthernLights display has subsided around me. There are little pockets of red and green occasionally, but I’m rather tired so hopefully I don’t miss another awesome display while I sleep.

We don’t have anything like that in northern Ohio yet but it does look like I can see some faint shimmering to the north-east so maybe it’ll start up soon.
I’m imagining how this went down. Often times jokes have some level of truth to them.

To follow up on this, I sent $10 worth of sats over Lightning today from River and it worked fine and fast. Coinbase continues to choke.
From what I understand, this is the most important election of our lifetime.
I’m hoping to get to see the #NorthernLights tonight. Earth is the recipient of a strong CME from the Sun which is causing a severe geomagnetic storm and may allow some of us to see a visual treat in the sky after sun down.

I realize this isn’t #Coinbase support but does anyone have any earthly idea why they limit me to sending #lightning payments of $1.50 USD or less?
Anything more and it tries to send but then fails. I can send payments all day less than $1.50.
Has anyone else run into this?
It further underscores why not to use Coinbase. I haven’t tried sending lightning from #River yet, but I’m assuming that’ll work a lot better.

If you use #PayPal and don’t want your entire purchase history shared with merchants you use PayPal with then you need to turn off the sharing this data with merchants. PayPal’s #privacy policy is changing to allow this sharing on a scale that the credit companies don’t (yet) do (supposedly).
Change it in PayPal by going to Profile -> Data and Privacy -> Personalized Shopping -> Let us share …
In the UK, this new policy becomes effective tomorrow, Oct 10, 2024.
In the US, this new policy becomes effective, Nov 27, 2024.
PayPal sent emails to everyone about it but nobody reads those emails so not many people know about it.

Hams are great (I am one so of course we’re great 😀), but I’ve also been on the end of providing radio comms for events and some people, I think, have a need to feel important, end up trying too hard, and just get in the way. Eat a piece of the humble pie and just chill.
