❓ Ask me about #Bitcoin | ⚡ Bullish on Lightning | 🧡 Passionate about buidling software Not your 🔑🔑, not your 🧀.

Yeah, requestProvider() is supposed to be called when a user e.g. clicks a connect button:

> If one is not available, the Bitcoin connect modal will be launched. This should be called on a user interaction to avoid the modal unexpectedly being shown to the user.

The onConnected event will be raised whenever a user connects for the first time (or connected before and reloads the page). If you want to e.g. display the balance that's the way to do it 👍

nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm is it possible to use https://github.com/getAlby/bitcoin-connect without having to show this popup every time you open the app

Yeah, this shouldn't popup every time 🤔 How did you initiate bitcoin-connect, can you share some code?

Yeah, you can't. NWC currently only covers payment-related actions (generating invoices, paying invoices, signing stuff, etc), but not vendor-specific things such as creating subwallets.

Have a look at your Hub > Settings > Developer > Experimental and generate a new token. You can then use the Hub APIs with that key. That being said: It's experimental, there are no docs and no promise of backwards-compatibility 😉

Alby queues all requests and processes them one by one in the same order the NIP07 calls were executed.

The extension also only knows whether to display a prompt or not after checking the site-specific permissions, blocklists, etc.

Awesome! Just installed, but I get the error "TTS engine missing", although I installed (and used) Sherpa TTS before and it's selected as TTS engine in OS settings 🤔 (using GrapheneOS)

Different browsers shouldn't be a problem as they don't share anything, right?

Please report back if disabling the extension sync resolved your problem.

Any chance that you did you pick different unlock passwords for the different instances of Chrome? All of the data is encrypted with your unlock password, so if you choose different passwords & sync to other computers that could potentially explain this problem?

Awesome, thank you for your ongoing support! 🧡

So you are onboarding people to your Alby Hub using the friends & family app? Since Alby Go currently is limited to NWC connections and has no connection to your Alby Account I am still wondering what configuration options you are missing in Alby Go?

We're following the developments with e-cash and other L2s very closely. However, we still need to figure out how these pieces all fit together into a solid UX that doesn't make it more complicated for users than absolutely needed.

Can you explain? You mean like recurring payments?

If you use Alby Hub, we've got you covered. Check out the app "ZapPlanner" in the App Store 🔥

> A starter mode where someone can configure all the basic settings from the app, no need to use the website except for advanced features.

Can you give some examples what you would like to have covered from the app? (basic settings)

Just configured goose & cursor to run with a nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqy2hwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytn00p68ytnyv4mz7qpq6g4umvwj2pduqc8kt2rv6heq2vhvtulyrsr2a20d4suldwnkl4hq62etsy API key 🤯

The best thing? I never paid more than a few thousand sats a month although I constantly use it.
