While connecting your Alby account, you have to never type (copy-paste) your nsec and it automatically fetches your npub.
So when I try to connect my #nostr account to nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm it somehow created a new nsec for me. My npub is correct and all that. But it creates a new nsec, even when I import my correct nsec over and over.
At this point I’m thinking it’s normal 😅
But that way, I can’t use nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm to login to other clients, specially #coracle nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn showed me the way to “fix” it. But I don’t succeed somehow…

I's very confusing to use Alby with #nostr, I struggled a lot with multiple keys and passphrases. But I think, in the end its all worth it since I'm now seeing the power of nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm how it integrates with multiple nostr apps just via a simple extension.

It's my first week on nostr, and I'm already feeling very overwhelmed by keys and extensions. Although, I use KeePass and know bit about encryption so its all cool, but for a newbie it's definitely scary, who is so used to just clicking "Forgot Password" button now and then.
There should be some easier way to onboard both kind of users, maybe via email address or something (ONLY IF THEY CHOOSE TO DO SO).
Also, #nostr looks like it caters to only #bitcoin and #crypto folks. Although, it has welcoming community and all, but it needs to spread its scope to cater various forms and voices - academicians, activists, etc. #grownostr

The SciHub mainly caters to researchers who need to access research articles which are paywalled behind corporate media CDN servers. For e.g. - this is an article known by its unique DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.biopsycho.2023.108636
Scihub instance is currently hosted at: https://sci-hub.se/
It works by taking a DOI of an article, and uses multiple institutional access systems to search across publisher platforms, bypassing any access control barriers, and it retrieves a copy of the item. Since many universities buy hefty subscription for these Journals, which are actually reviewed, edited and run by scientists (UNPAID).
SciHub then does two things. One, it delivers a copy back to the user who requested it; two it stores a copy in its server so that it is easier to serve up when the next request comes in. SciHub generally runs on #bitcoin donations.
