What prevent the scalpers to create 100 nostr accounts, buy one ticket with each one of them, then resell the tickets with the resell option. Or even sell the nostr account private key that hold the ticket.

You could use some web of trust or enforce old enough account only but then you will just exclude every non-nostr users which will already be annoyed to create an account and a Bitcoin wallet and buy Bitcoin just to buy your ticket.

Great idea but there is still a lot to solve to make it usable at scale.

Which KYC? You need to give a (fake) email, right?

That's perfect for starting to accept Bitcoin Lightning. You set this up on an existing NAS or a small PC (Raspberry or whatever come cheap and reliable enough) or even on a VPS, then in minutes you have you PoS, Lightning Address and everything LNbits has to offer to start with Bitcoin.

I will try to test it.

Rollercoasters work the other way around and always end up at the same point as they begin.

It looks amazing, I love the idea. I don't know Phoneixd, is it a full node that manage liquidity with Phoenix LSP (or whatever they call it) or it's like using a Phoenix wallet app running in docker which would not need to store the entire Blockchain?

Interesting, I wish I had such level of understanding of Bitcoin to have such fun like this.

And if I ever know before I would have sell my tBTC laying around to these degens to grab a few more sats.

You are right, I didn't even know that, GrapheneOS amaze me a bit more everyday. I turn it on immediatly to test how good it works.

Thanks for the tip.

I couldn't agree more. GrapheneOS has that for the PIN unlock, should be default.

In Asia I have seen some card payememt terminal with PIN on a touch screen that does the same, it will annoy people who memorize the pattern/movememts on keypad but if we all get used to it, security will increase for all.

The secret war to grab as much bitcoins as possible at the lowest price before every other countries/banks/companies/billionnaire figure it out as already begun for some time now.

Don't get fooled.

As I see on the field, I never this repeat enough:

Use a good (if possible open source) password manager and generate 20-32 characters random password for each online account as well as unique PIN for each device and card.

Enable 2 factors authentifications whenever it's possible, Webauth with a hardware token is a must, if not available from the service TOTP is the minimum.

Nextcloud, Wordpress, BTCPay Server, Kraken, Twitter, Github, Microsoft, Google and even Facebook (for the masochists) support WebAuth, one touch of a button for the most secure 2FA solution.

My recommandation:

- Bitwarden Premium (10$/year) for begginer and easier usage.

- Keepass XC + Keepass2Android sync over Nextcloud or Syncthing for more advanced users.

- Yubikey 5 as hardware token

More details in one of my old but still very relevant article: https://eluc.ch/password-managers-and-authentication-tools/

Did I miss anything? Let me know, I will be happy to discuss you setup and use cases.

I used to have an app (Automate) that can run scripts and one script I used did turn off and on the wifi based on your GPS location, but I don't use this app anymore as it's not open source and quite heavy on ressources sometimes.

I think the random MAC is enough and I try to turn off manually when I travel.

I agree on the always on VPN, I use my own server to always be like at home. Downside is that if your device got seized unlocked the person will have acces to your home network but it's not really in my treat model.

More than ever, learn to use non-custodial Bitcoin wallet like Sparrow with a hardware wallet for your on-chain main wallet.

Use Phoenix, Breez or Zeus for Lightning on mobile used for daily spending.

Then run your own Bitcoin node and connect your wallets to it.

Possibly run a Lightning node if you have specific usage and are willing to learn, otherwise stay with Zeus Embedded (advanced users Lightning + on-chain), Phoenix (most user friendly) and Breez (easy point-of-sales compatible with NFC boltcards), these are much easier and maintenance free than running a public routing node.

The fee are really not that much compare to the cost and risk of operating a Lightning node, just open a big fat private (unannonced) channel when fees are low and you are good to go.

As long as you have WiFi enabled (no necessarly connected) and not changing MAC address at each connection (GrapheneOS does it), then they will track you position in the store.

I was thinking about the same for phone calls. I wish there would be a way to filter calls. Is on whistlist (phone contact list) -> ring, is not on whistlist, ask for a PIN code (I could give togheter with my phone on a business card or in an email, it can be valid for single use, multiple use, valid for a period only,...), blacklist -> redirect to the local police station or a sex shop whatever 🤣

230m2 average house! That's crazy. In our appartment we leave at 5 in 110m2 so 22m2 per person, below 1975 average apparently.

Phoenixd is a Lightning node (https://phoenix.acinq.co/server/) that works a lot like thir app, uses ACINQ as the LSP so you never have to worry about liquidity or finding people to open channels with, they handle all of that for you, for a fee.

So, you just need to run phoenixd to have self-hosted lightning, and phoenixd-lnurl alongside it to have self-hosted LNURL and Zaps.

Currently does kinda require that you've already got a server running somewhere, more work needed to get this to work on node-in-a-box solutions like Umbrel, Start9 etc.

Ok thanks for the explanation, not quite sure it's what I was expecting.

I already run an Umbrel with Lnbits and lnurlp with Lightning address. And yes it's quite complicate to setup and in my case it's quite unrelable, not sure why exactly.

Still hoping for an easier and more reliable solution that is still self-hosted and non-custodial.

It's a bit sad, it just mean more centralization on Lightning and indirectly to Bitcoin.

Hopefully early issues that cost node operators money (stuck HTLC, force close, old commitement method blocking channels), better UX (reliable auto channel management, liquidity management) and new way to open/close channel in group to save on cost, will allow the node operator to grow again.

I also think that the majority of the grow will be on mobile node with unannonced channels, like with Phoenix, Zeus and Breez and this is mostly invisible but still important for adoption.

I'm not using Google for web search for even before I got into Bitcoin so why would I care about Google users statistics? It's only reflecting what people late to the game are seaeching, so of course they are not paying attention to freedom tech, otherwise they would havr started with something as basic and easy as changing search engine, before moving to fix the money fix the world, which is a tad more ambitious.

How can you loose friends for not using an app? Call them to chat and then invite them for a BBQ, or what ever you like to do with these friends. If you don't like to do anything with them or they have no time for you, then you can say that you loose these friends.
