This as a loading animation would be cool

This is a 10 IQ take. The vast majority of the countries urban centres and population live on or below the 49th parallel because most of what's north of that line is swamp. Also just because European cities are at higher latitudes doesn't mean the Canadian experience the same weather. Ever hear of oceanic currents?

I agree that we tend to favour politicians who make the problem worse. It's a really difficult and long process to get building permits and that's a huge problem. But just telling people to go build in the swamp, away from where their families and jobs are is dumb.

Honestly, I think social media in general is the reason for the acceleration of polarization. People don't talk to each other in person anymore. This leads to people forming opinions about the world based on their online interactions, where people are more hostile. And that leads people to be more xenophobic. I think if people spent more time talking to their neighbours than they did on social media, we'd be less divided.

Honest question: is centralization a concern for you under this model? Is there a threshold like a percentage of total users using an LSP that defines the line between decentralized and centralized?

Stupid questions:

- if everything is in memory is there a concern of filling memory? If so how is that managed?

- if everything is in memory, won't the client need to populate the db after every restart of the app? Or is there some sort of persistent state carried across restarts?

I feel like there's synergy between Nostr and Obsidian. Would be cool to make the two work together.

Hello World. I just finished making an implementation of RustyRussell's runes package in Go. Here it is: https://github.com/TheRebelOfBabylon/go-runes

Think RustyRussel would mind if I made a version of this in Go with MIT license? I tried emailing him but no response

Ah nvm he answered!

For Wilson, are you suggesting direct election of senators is a bad thing? I'd like to understand that one because here in Canada, I'd very much like if we had direct election of senators instead of them being appointed by the PM.
