Offer to give your time and energy to provide value to a company in the Bitcoin space for free (i.e. volunteer). Think of it as an investment. Those you want to work with will get to know you, your skills, and whether you would be a good fit for the company. You'll come away with more experience, and you'll also know better whether you really want to work for them. It's how I got hired at NOAH, and it's at least 1000x better than simply sending in your resume.

With these kinds of conversations happening, how can we not be bullish on the future?

I explained to my 8-year-old daughter today that, hypothetically speaking, the proper role of a government is to defend our life, liberty, and property. I said that ideally, we wouldn't even need a government to do that, but as a last resort only, its purpose is to protect those 3 things.

So if someone tries to kill you, or force you to do or not do something against your will, or steal something that belongs to you, and you have nowhere else to turn and no other way to defend yourself, then the government is supposed to be your final recourse.

Then I reminded her that the government is trying to force us to do and not do certain things against our will (this whole conversation started because I mentioned to her that buying organically farmed eggs from a fellow Bitcoiner was technically illegal, and she was like, "Huh?!?"). The government also steals from us in the form of taxes, inflation, eminent domain, and other methods. And, if we resist them with either of these things, they'll use physical force, and even kill us if they want. And there's no one we can go to for recourse from that.

From the indignant look on her face, I could tell she understood well enough for an 8-year-old just how bad the government really is.

I came to Bitcoin for the political freedom (ending the Fed, and replacing it with a Bitcoin standard).

I'm staying in Bitcoin for the spiritual freedom (lowering my time preference, and giving me greater hope).

What about you?

A poem, by Jason Hodlers

For thousands of years,

Through blood, sweat and tears,

Humanity labored and grew.

We traded the fruits

Of hard-won pursuits,

When desires matched between two.

But then we soon found,

From deep in the ground,

Metal the color of honey.

With this we could trade

For anything made.

We called this invention "money".

This tool now in hand,

We tended the land,

And bought and sold with our neighbor.

This medium was

So precious because

It had to be mined with labor.

But as nations spread,

And wars made men dead,

Those in thrones were tempted by greed.

Not much could be spent,

Or on journeys sent,

To lands far away in great need.

A scheme was then made

For people to trade

Their hard-earned money for paper.

More easy to hold

Than silver or gold,

But its value soon would taper.

In '71,

Like out of a gun,

Nixon cut the dollar from gold.

From this single change

Would life rearrange,

To be worse for all, young and old.

All prices increased,

And savings were least

For those who were greatest in need.

And they in control

Could reach their great goal

To enslave and make the world bleed.

What was to be done

When father and son

Cared not for a time but today?

All manner of waste,

And unyielding haste,

Ruled over us, blocking our way.

Then someone unknown,

And with humble tone,

Shared a plan to put it all right.

Eight pages explained

A money ordained

To free us from our awful plight.

Nobody controls

Or sets their own goals

For this money that all can hold.

We each can rely

On its scarce supply,

And know that its truth will be told.

But some saw a chance

-- Their greed to advance --

To make some new coins of their own.

Each one of them fail,

For all of them pale

Next to the one harder than stone.

The future is β‚Ώright,

For hope is in sight,

Regardless of all that's amiss.

For whether it's war,

Poverty and more,

We can say "Bitcoin fixes this!"

I'd love to get your thoughts on this.

Okay, and your zaps, too. πŸ˜‰βš‘

My church's lesson manual for this week's study explains the difference between fiat religion and true religion pretty clearly:

"[Jesus] taught ... that the true purpose of religion is not to create burdens but to relieve them. He taught that God gives us commandments, including the one to honor the Sabbath, not to oppress us but to bless us. Yes, the way to God is strait and narrow, but the Lord came to announce that we need not walk it alone. 'Come unto me,' He pleaded. His invitation, to all who feel 'heavy laden' for any reason, is to stand beside Him, to bind ourselves to Him, and to let Him share our burdens. His promise is 'Ye shall find rest unto your souls.' Compared to the alternativesο»Ώβ€”trying to carry on alone or relying on mortal solutionsο»Ώβ€”His 'yoke is easy, and [His] burden is light.' "

Any religion that says you should trust in a man, or that adds greater burdens instead of relieving you of the burdens you already carry, is fiat. But to know whether a religion is fiat or true, you need to look at it more deeply than a quick superficial glance. Like with the scientific method, the only way to verify it is to test it out yourself.

"It's a shame that math is such an unpopular subject. It's just stuff making sense!"

-My 15-year-old son, just now

Bitcoin right back on track as if nothing happened.

Did you stack?

Exactly 3 years ago today, Bitcoin crashed hard with other markets, due to the beginning of the covid hysteria.

3 tears ago today, I returned home from work, and carefully told my wife -- who isn't nearly as enthusiastic about Bitcoin -- about this crash.

Her response:

"That just means we can buy more now, right?"

3 years ago today, I knew once and for all that my wife was fully orange pilled.
