WTF really happened in Portugal?
The answer is in the Geomagnetic fields.
The large, massive power outage that broke out in Portugal, Spain and parts of France just shows the chaos that will occur when the Earth's magnetic field totally diminishes, as we are currently in a Geomagnetic excursion.
The power outage is (most) probably caused by current surges & fluctuations from ground induced currents due to our weakening and fluctuating geomagnetic fields.
The weakening of Earth's magnetic field allows more cosmic rays and solar particles to penetrate the atmosphere, increasing ionization. This ionized air can disrupt the electric properties of the atmosphere, causing extra currents and voltage fluctuations in high-voltage power lines.
What they called a "rare atmospheric phenomenon" is actually a natural consequence of a weakened magnetic shield and rising cosmic radiation. These conditions make power outages and electrical failures much more likely during even minor space weather disturbances.
