Nobody who works on bitcoin thinks it is done. None of these people are in favor of short term ossification. It may take a little humility to grasp this. Billionaires lack humility.

I don't disagree with your sentiment but I don't think hosting an exclusive event for active core contributors is a bad idea. Anyone is able to contribute to bitcoin core. You get an invite if you can show proof of work. Right to self-assembly is protected in the constitution for a reason.
