10 lbs?

Nope only 3.5 lbs, and the apples were only $1/lb. So $3 for 8 ounces isn't too bad.

Of course after the hour of labor and the power to run the dehydrator for 12 hours, it suddenly looks a lot more expensive. That's why I only make enough for my household. Nobody is going to pay $2/oz for dehydrated apple chunks. 😂

/me checks online for price of dehydrated apple chunks: $12.47 for a 4oz bag, and even those sre "unsvailable". 🤔 Huh, maybe there is a market here after all...

I only have a single pot with basil, and it doesn't like the cold room (~15°C), so this is several month's worth of basil leaves. It's maybe half a spice jar's worth of output. But by doing it myself, I get green leaves, not the store-bought browned stuff.

I made a batch of dehydrated apple chunks today. What's pictured + a full pint: 0.5 lbs in total. Anyone want to guess how many lbs of apples went into this?

Silly me. It's kicad.org and the donate banner is at the top. Punchline: email donations@kicad.org with a subject of either "Donation Problems" or "New Currency".

We just want to make sure we can collectively deliver in the event they make it happen.

How long does it take you to make your instructional videos? I feel like it easily takes me an hour just to edit what ends up being a 3 minute video.

You put out so much content, I don't know how on Earth you make the time.

#KiCAD is an awesome #FOSS project that I use to update #OpenSource hardware designs. They are having a fundraiser right now.

I reached out to them asking if they would accept #bitcoin. I think I made a pretty strong case in that their developers would probably like the opportunity to be paid directly in #BTC, and if not, it can be converted for less than the 3.2% they are paying in credit card fees (although some people donate extra to cover those fees).

If they start taking bitcoin, I'll report back here and try to rally people here to donate and show them that accepting bitcoin was a good idea.

Today I did a little #nostr #dev, a little #bitcoin dev and a little #lightning dev. 10 hours all together.

Most of all, I did debugging and documentation. But hey, I save 97K sats from the coding error deamons, so I'll take that as a win!

And apparently `./venv/bin/pip3 install secp256k` is broken. 😖

Tried to use that, but it requires npm which invariably leads to not having some bleeding edge version of npm that isn't available in any stable Linux distro, so I just noped right past this one.

I want something small and efficient, which is the exact opposite of npm.

And I just ran into the need to query for kinds that aren't supported by nostrdebug.com

I was doing something maybe relevant a few days ago:

https://github.com/callebtc/python-nostr

```
import json
import ssl
import time
from nostr.filter import Filter, Filters
from nostr.event import Event, EventKind
from nostr.relay_manager import RelayManager
from nostr.message_type import ClientMessageType
from nostr.key import PrivateKey, PublicKey
from nostr.relay_manager import RelayManager
# initial constants
pubkey = PublicKey.from_npub("npub1sp0rex959gshtgypve45upmm4vepxm4xea9eja4f2ftfj97euv5s3rj02v")
filter_me = Filters([Filter(authors=[pubkey.hex()], kinds=[EventKind.TEXT_NOTE])])
filter_allow_everyone = Filters([Filter(kinds=[EventKind.TEXT_NOTE])])
known_good_relay = "wss://relay.damus.io"
# get my content from a known good relay
subscription_id = "getmyshit2"
request = [ClientMessageType.REQUEST, subscription_id]
request.extend(filter_me.to_json_array())
relay_manager = RelayManager()
relay_manager.add_relay(known_good_relay)
relay_manager.add_subscription(subscription_id, filter_me)
relay_manager.open_connections({"cert_reqs": ssl.CERT_NONE})
time.sleep(1.25) # allow the connections to open
events = []
message = json.dumps(request)
relay_manager.publish_message(message)
time.sleep(1) # allow the messages to send
while relay_manager.message_pool.has_events():
event_msg = relay_manager.message_pool.get_event()
events.append(event_msg)
print(f"received {len(events)} events!")
relay_manager.close_connections()
```

I'm in dependency hell here. Is there a requirements.txt somewhere?

And nostr:npub1r7psmkr4zv93xnal8un6d8hvmpsn5jvhfzn3kk38rfcel6awznks7znspg, you'll be happy to know that I've put you in my personal notes for where to point people who are new to self hosting

I want to support people like you who are helping make it easier for people to get started.

If you want a laptop that runs free software right down to the bios layer, check out https://minifree.org/

£238 for a laptop with 16G RAM and 1TB SSD is a good deal, but it'd also support someone who is doing the work of making these available to the market.

After 7 days the soil remains wet, but there's no sign of germination. I added a little water and it tore through the toilet paper, so I think that part is going to work as intended.

If they germinate, the next question is whether they will be able to grow roots down to the water fast enough that they can drink before the water level drops below the dirt.

If so, the dirt will dry out and the plant should be good to go.

It takes a good amount of time & effort to learn about all the things kdenlive can do. Fortunately, it's pretty quick to learn the basics (editing out the bloopers, doing hard cuts beteen each segment, etc.).

Then you learn about title screens (between segments). Then putting graphics onto videos. Then fades between scenes. Then picture in picture

Eventually I'll learn about doing a fancy things where the transition to picture in picture happens by shrinking one video clip down and sliding it into place, but I'm not that advanced yet. Someday I'll watch a youtube video on how to do it. 😆
