I'm waiting to see Michael J's library - nostr:nevent1qqspyc7xkg5lr049smcw420gm73vqucx6d6d80ycg3gkryqckv3chlcprfmhxue69uhhg6r9vehhyetnwshxummnw3erztnrdaksygrszgsjsfemmsr6lxl8wf06t39uplq5dpntasudgsmqm39udnqchypsgqqqqqqshuad5d
That will make it very easy for people with minimal programming talent (me, even!) to spin up new clients of all different sorts!
Ooh, very interesting indeed. I guess for now I just have to be patient with the nostr protocol.
Yes, it does sound annoying. I think an opt out option should be provided, but that's being rejected. Currently looking for an alternative to Amethyst... Any ideas?
Does it π€ maybe I've been misunderstanding how forking works.
I can't pretend, my maiden name literally means something akin to "gypsy peasants". π€·π½ββοΈπ€£ And the other side of my family tree is Aussie so there's probably some criminal charges there somewhere. I'm curious as to whether my ancestors stole some bread or started a revolution...
Sure, but you're not answering my point.
It seems highly probable to me that once a few SJWs and snowflakes arrive on nostr they will be forking (aka censoring) everyone with their PC ways of speaking. Forking allows a passive agressive underhanded means of doing it, rather than open discussion. Free speech and open discussion with a wide array of intelligent people is why I'm here. Anything that openly divides the nostr user base causes the whole protocol to lose its value, in my opinion.
i think an "allow edits" option when posting on #Amethyst will make peace on both sides. it's an awesome feature, but it could be annoying, considered "post policing," or even exploited for "behind the scenes" harassment etc.

Now there's a suggestion I can get behind. Those who are open to having their notes forked can opt in to have others #fork up their notes. The rest of us can carry on as we were.
It's true.. I'm nothing but a cat butler. They're lucky they're so gosh darn cute.
Right?! It's like a repeat of covid times with everyone mindlessly aplauding tech that will divide people and bring out their worst. I didn't really expect to find that on nostr of all places. I'm getting closer to writing nostr off as a failed free speech experiment and deleting like every other social media account I've owned.
At this point we're nothing more than tax cattle to our politicians (read "kings").
Come hang out with some libertarians tomorrow!

Want to do more than just hang out, like help the LP get ballot access again? Iβll be bringing a petition you can sign if you choose!

And nostr:npub1f6ugxyxkknket3kkdgu4k0fu74vmshawermkj8d06sz6jts9t4kslazcka is right... Make it an option that I can toggle so that no one can "tidy" my speech and everyone wins.
I'm already asking around about Amethyst alternatives... Anyone have a recommendation for me?
40% is just income tax, let's not forget that some of us pay "goods and service" taxes just to buy and sell food. Then taxes when you buy a property, more taxes when you sell it, building permit fees (read one time tax) to make additions to your own property. Taxes on your estate when you die and taxes on your super... Most of us are paying more than 40%...
This isn't about editing yourself.
It's about other users editing your notes. Rather than having a conversation with on where they disagree, they can now passively aggressively send you rightspeak edits to your speech.
Two completely different experiences.
That tops the horrible ways to die list.. I'm gonna have nightmares for days π
My apologies.... I see I was here freaking out about a baby! π±π
What an ugly #bugstr It's huge too the length of my index fimger. When I spotted it from across the room I was like, "what the heck is that?" followed by, "I hope it's not on the inside of my window." π±
