Hello world. Excited to be part of this journey although I’m still very new here. Watched some interviews with nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m where he expresses his love for the Nostr platform and community so decided to give it a shot. If anyone has any good reading/video references to catch up on lightning, sat, nostr, damus, etc I’m all ears and would definitely appreciate it!

Welcome πŸ‘‹

You can probably learn more here.

I suspect you and I have more similar thoughts about Romans 13 than mainstream interpretations and it's more a matter of nuance in reading.

But if you want a real understanding of how my pacifist stance came from my Bible reading, for me it goes back to what Jesus said in the sermon on the mount. "Love your enemies".... I don't see how one could simultaneously love and kill their enemies. πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

The prevalence of this kind of thing while catching public transport has gone up I think. Yes it seems to be the younger people. There could be elements of addiction, reality avoidance too, but I think a strong emphasis on individuality and living your own reality probably has something to do with it.

I strongly disagree... And I'd use Romans 13 to do so... I know Romans 13 doesn't mean check your conscience at the door and do all the state says, but I do take it as saying that God allow rulers and he will judge them harshly for doing wrong. The old testament prophets said that repeatedly too.

But say I agreed with the quote, I'd still take the non-violent resistance path. It's statistically proven to be more successful at ushering in a more peaceful political system for a county. Whereas, the chances of civil war breaking out a second time are super high when violence ushers in a new regime.

People do that crap in real life too... Last year at a university fair I saw a booth with a sign that said "vote for the one you most want dead" and had pictures of various millionaires hated by the woke/left. And people had actually stopped and voted. I'm not a fan of any of the billionaires, but I was actually so grossed out by young people that day. I should have taken a photo and complained but I didn't think about it til I was far away and given the general environment at university I doubt it would have done anything.

Usually I enjoy a good swing set but I know a few people I'd have fun pushing on that swing. 😜

Food sharing (also known as food stealing when I do it to hubstr) and encouraging words ('nagging' and 'trading insults' to hubstr) πŸ˜œπŸ˜…

Which client are you using? I ask because I tried Primal and I couldn't figure out how to find people.

Find some hashtags to follow and look up people using them to see if you'd like to follow them.

Yeah. It's definitely a skill. One that I lack and so find fascinating and amusing... Until I'm in a rush to get somewhere πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

Still might now be you... My hubby gives off big friendly teddy bear vibes... Yeah people everywhere talk to him way more than me. And perhaps I have my own "get lost" vibes.

I dunno... You look like one cool traveller to me πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

That's probably why governments get to define who is a terrorist or terrorist organisation and why it takes so long to call a genocide as it is. What might be interesting is if a class action could sue the government for using taxes to fund someone who they later classed as some kind of criminal or terrorist.

I hope you haven't booked any "family friendly" spots for your honeymoon? The first half od my honeymoon was at a very exclusive place which was super romantic... Then the second half was at a "family friendly" resort... Kids ran everywhere, everything was tacky and expensive and the restaurants were always full and noisy... So non-romantic.

Don't exhaust yourself talking to everyone on your wedding day. Target the important people and people who have come from far away. Even better to see the latter in the days before your wedding if you have time.

After you're married, make her believe she is loved and beautiful in your sight every day, even if you're not feeling it. That will encourage her to be more loveable and beautiful in your sight.

Good luck and congratulations πŸ’πŸŽ‰

Toby just wandered into the room, made vocal complaints, flopped on his side, and let out a big cat sigh. He takes after me. πŸ˜»πŸ˜… Elsa looks like she fell over after drinking too much 🀣. I won't tell you who she takes after πŸ˜œπŸ˜…
