A few reasons really. Its easier to manage hair that’s constantly salty and in the wind if its a buzz cut and out here getting a hair cut isn’t easy so learning how to do it yourself is the way to go. My wife doesn’t cut her hair whereas I buzz mine every month or so and with the money we save we stack sats 😁🤙
Good questions! We chose not to stop off in Aitutaki due to the narrow channel entrance which is hard for us to navigate as we’re a trimaran with a 12m beam. Rarotonga because it’s south of the rhumb line and the angles don’t work that great. A lot of where we go is very dependent upon ease and safety. As Bruce Lee said be like water choose the path of least resistance 😁
And yep we have a desalinator/water-maker that runs off the onboard 24 volt system. This systems mainly charged by solar and can produce around 70 litres of fresh water an hour.
Let me know it’s latitude and longitude and we’ll do our best. We’re heading to the Vava’u group in the north. Tonga stretches for over 200nm north/south so not sure it’s in the same vicinity??
Amazing how people come and go here it’s as if they can’t be bothered putting in the proof of work to build their audience on #nostr so head back to twit world where they feel important again.
1700 local time, start of day 3 and we’ve done 380nm since departing Maupiti. Had a spectacular day with smooth seas a gentle 2m ground swell rolling through from the SW but light 8-12kts of wind just after of the beam.
Boats going great and we expect this weather to continue for the next two days. Made some water this morning topping up the tanks and drinking water.
Come Wednesday we’ll start to get some more harsh conditions with expected 25-35kts of breeze for the last two days run into Tonga.
Proof of Sail ⛵️

200nm run in the last 24hrs! Not too shabby for this old girl. We’re a day into our passage from Maupiti, French Polynesia to Tonga. Only 1042nm to go or roughly 5 days.
If there’s one method of travel that’s proof of work it’s got to be sailing. Out here nothing is for free!
#sailstr 😁 #travelstr

Awesome thank you 🙏 we’ll do our best to inspire you to take your family sailing. As someone who grew up on a yacht with his parents I wholeheartedly recommend this lifestyle! It was the best gift my parents could have given me. Living on a yacht as a kid introduced me to unique people and showed me there was another way to live and an incredibly beautiful world out there to explore.
My wife trying to orange pill #mantaray in #maupiti while teaching them the power of the #hodl As they say #Bitcoin is for everyone 😁

Like the production of Bitcoin, entering the small pass into the beautiful lagoon that surrounds the spectacular island of Maupiti and climbing its tallest peak they require Proof Of Work!
Of course but my point was that they can make it illegal as you said but it won’t stop it being adopted by those that value it. And how’s their war on drugs going and how did the war on terror work out for them? I wish them luck since I’ve been within the space I’ve seen every kind of attack and non have succeeded.
You’re wrong as long as #Bitcoin is valuable to someone it will continue marching forward it will just take longer for the world to adopt it.
One of my favourite weather apps is windy. It’s incredibly powerful and allows one to see up to date weather info at the push of a button. You can see cloud top temps to getting weather data on passage! Blows my mind how much sailing and weather forecasting has changed since I started living on boats as a kid in the 1980’s.

And we’re the ones designing the instruments that will keep us in a cage all to get rich. Humanity has lost the plot!
Fair winds! looks pretty calm out there Where’re you heading? We’re sailing from Raiatea to Maupiti tomorrow ⚓️ up at 0600 nice easy 45nm.
If you’re not cutting your own hair to stack sats do you really understand the value of #Bitcoin and storing your time and energy within it? #hairstr #stacksats
