Triangulating the values and concerns of different perspectives in order to solve problems and create affordances at scale is the definition of human society.
We lost sight of that at some point.
Agreed. Having multiple views that balance one another should be the project. Otherwise, it's just an authoritarian chokehold wherever the "driving out" takes place.
A core tenet of "investment" advice is to avoid investing in anything you don't understand. The same is true of your time and attention.
The lack of being willing to build those bridges, to have intelligent discussion motivated by the best outcomes, is really sad.

Fully agreed. Posted a similar note too.
Same thing for gold, real estate. Value increase yes, to a certain extent, but primarily driven by money supply increase.
When I use the same line of argument for friends and family, they revert to "observational" counterarguments like "because wages are increasing" or "because raw material prices are increasing".
All symptoms but no one can pinpoint the actual root cause.
How else can we explain this to them apart from "our money is broken?" Whats the flow of thought to bring them to the conclusion?

🚨Something I've noticed🚨 people around me are now regularly acknowledging the fact that their dollars-out commitments have marginalized whatever dollars-in gains they may have managed. This is interesting to me because it has spread to people from all demographics.
🚨Take away🚨 That should indicate to everyone exactly how bad the circumstances have become.
Work 😫 ... good news about the headphones though. 😆
Sorry in advance. 🙏 🙏🙏

Some thoughts:
1. Energy, as a "cost of production," includes the metabolic energy spent by people that participate in the "production."
2. Price is a representation of many underlying factors. Those factors may be, and often are, arbitrary. However, "price" isn't a lie. It demonstrates perfectly the inherent flaws within a system, especially when studied across time with appropriate scrutiny. The inappropriate regulation of markets is despicable, but so is not putting up a big enough resistance to poor leadership.
3. Projecting the past into the future is precisely the proper approach to moving forward. What do you think all that cortical matter is for?
4. Paradigms have never been, and cannot be, defined from within themselves. Being outside of one is what allows us to even see that one existed.
I enjoy the revolutionary aspect of the culture found on #nostr . Though, I would rather see the arguments get steel-man treatment over the typical straw-man. So, these are just a few shallow thoughts so far. Poke holes if you like.
